Dr. Trupti Vikram Patel, MD

I accompanied my elderly father at 2 appts. Shocked into silence, I witnessed behavior that is unacceptable for anyone, for a psychiatrist, unethical at best. After the 2nd appt. I immediately began a thorough search for a new provider. I feel blessed to have found Dr. Smith at MATRx, a caring, concerned, compassionate individual, and highly competent physician. Since, Dad is no longer a patient, I did not submit a complaint to The Ohio Medical Board, but should I for others.

This doctor is in it for the money and she is no different then any other drug pusher on the street . She makes addicts worse with providing subs and not testing consistently or addressing the holistic needs of each patient. It is a pill mill for cash so insurance companies cannot monitor. She does not appropriately look at the entire needs of the patient or address or treat underlying mental illnesses. This practice is true example of greed in its most grotesque unethical form. This practice hopefully will be shut down before she continues to destroy anymore lives. Do not walk away from this physician run !!! You will read about this practice in the paper soon.

I have been a Comp. Drug client and have been taking methadone longer than she has been a licensed physician. Got into Comp Drug in 1994. My daily dose of methadone was 190 mg. and had been on this dose for over 10 years with no positive urines or alcohol sensors. I come in to be medicated one day to find out that I was put on a detox without being notified. My dose of 190 is being reduced to 150. Keep in mind I had no positive urines or anything. Why mess with someone's sobriety like this? I had to leave a Dayton Ohio clinic years ago because I could not get enough methadone there to stay well. I was doing great on my 190 mg. No cravings. Totally satisfied. Not so now. Being an addict in this country is either a death sentence or a prison sentence. And Dr. Trupti Patel is contributing to this. The doctors here have gotten worse over the years. I use to hold out hope that things would get better for patients here, but not anymore. I hate Comp. Drug and the law making bureaucrats of… this country.

She should not be in addiction services. She has no compassion for addicts or understanding of what they go through. People are coming to her seeking help and she puts them down, treats them with disrespect, talks to you like you're an idiot, refuses to listen or try to understand, and makes people feel like they don't matter. Seeing her is a traumatic experience. She acts like she hates people with addiction and treats them with thinly veiled contempt. She is heartless.

as a patient i was actually horrified to go in front of Dr Patel due to the fact everyone that had seen her that day for an apt came out white faced and traumatically scared. One lady was crying because the Dr didn't even give her one chance to have a a clean urine automatically started decreasing her medication and the lady was terminally ill. She was so quick to talk and not listen and very comfortable with cutting an individual off during mid sentence. So if your just needing to see a Dr in the heat of the moment then maybe but dont recommend for long term treatment or if your trying to do the right thing dont think about even having the smallest hiccup cause your a long goner.

Shes not that good of a doctor. She's against methadone and everything else in the book. Why work some where like at Comp Drug if your against methadone? She don't like people really & she won't help you if your an addict. She doesn't care about nobody.

Dr. Pastel's bedside manner leaves much to be desired. Though educated and experienced she delivers quick diagnoses' and does seem to show contempt for the very subjects she chosen to commit her career too. She also does not seem to truly listen to her patients, if you are in a sensitive situation bring a trusted advocate with you when speaking with her.

Dr. Patel should be required to take sensitivity training. She works with people struggling to recover from alcohol or drug addiction but clearly has nothing but contempt for them. She treats the very population she serves with distain and clearly enjoys exercising the power she has over them in very negative, damaging and erratic ways. She says one thing and does another, and this to a group of people who need to focus on simple, consistent reality. Addicted people who are trying to recover deserve better.
