Dr. Tu-Lan Dinh Nguyen, MD

My experience with Dr. Nguyen has been deeply disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my concerns regarding the care I received. During my past two visits, I found her to be dismissive of my concerns and lacking in empathy. After prescribing me a medication that caused my blood pressure to spike and my heart to race, I raised these side effects with her. Instead of addressing my concerns, Dr. Nguyen downplayed the issue, stating that the medication does not raise blood pressure significantly. When I informed her that I had reduced the dosage due to my symptoms, she expressed frustration rather than offering a constructive solution. Despite my clear discomfort, she insisted that I continue the full dosage to "get the full benefit" and even increased my depression medication, which led to heightened anxiety. After experiencing dangerous blood pressure readings and increased anxiety, I attempted to schedule a follow-up appointment in mid-July. Her appointment setter informed me that… Dr. Nguyen was backed up due to the hurricane and could not fit me into her schedule. I requested to leave a message for Dr. Nguyen to call me back, which the staff reluctantly accepted. Unfortunately, I never received a return call, which only added to my frustration. When I finally saw Dr. Nguyen a month later, I was met with the same dismissive attitude. Despite my pleas for adjustments to the medication regimen, which had clearly caused adverse effects, she remained insistent that I continue both medications as prescribed. This lack of flexibility and understanding left me feeling unheard and helpless. I found this experience both unprofessional and deeply distressing. Her approach to patient care, coupled with an unresponsive staff, raises serious concerns about patient safety. I have since sought the guidance of my primary care physician and am currently in the process of finding a new psychiatrist. I would not recommend Dr. Nguyen to others based on this experience.

Fantastic, amazing doctor! Dr. Nguyen has the best bed side manner and is extremely knowledgeable. She takes the time to assess her patients thoroughly and then comes up with a plan. Every time I leave her office, I feel so much better. She is one of the best doctors I have ever met!
