Dr. Patel was very compassionate and carefully took care of me every step of the way. He even followed up in the PACU when I needed some more pain relief and ensured I was comfortable and smiling. He expressed that he was happy to see me smiling knowing how anxious I had been. Just a wonderful, skilled professional. Thank you Dr. Patel!!!!

Dr. Patel's care was even better during the second surgery. Unfortunately, my veins did not cooperate while he tried to put in the I.V. due to my having had to do a "bowel prep" the day before and not drinking for many hours. In other words, I was low on water in my system. But, he finally got the I.V. going and then everything went great from then. I had been terrified of waking up in pain and he and my surgeon promised I wouldn't and I didn't. Dr. Patel can seem "mean" but he's just very direct and honest and I like that. My surgeon, Dr. J. T. Decker, is a very nice, friendly man and everyone loves him. Between the two of them, they make a great team. Thank you, Dr. Patel, for your professionalism, and skills in pain management during surgery. Also, you kept me from having that heart attack you worried about and for that I am especially grateful. You are a great "gas man".

I met Dr. Patel when he came in to the pre-op room and scared the heck out of me. You see, I have a heart condition and he explained how I could have a heart attack while under anesthesia. Very true but I didn't want to hear it. For the first part of the surgery he used a Valium like drug that allows you to function normally and consciously but later you have no memory. Then he put me under for the rest of the operation. I have no real memory of the operating room. The last I remember is being wheeled out of the pre-op room into the hall. Yet, for some reason I have an extremely positive emotional "memory" of the surgery and am convinced that Dr. Patel and my surgeon are a perfect surgical team so I have asked for Dr. Patel for my upcoming hysterectomy. I will put my life into Dr. Patel's hands any time.
