Dr. Backlas actively listens, is professional, and evokes a caring supportive demeanor. I am impressed with him!

Backlas is very good. I have a lot of experience.

This man is the worst human being you will ever meet. He made me feel worthless and treated me so horribly. I wish I never ever met him ever in my life. He writes horrible passive aggressive things in your permanent records also so that every other doctor you go to in the future will assume the worst things about you all because of his racist self. Karma has a big bite and one day, it will be him suffering the consequences of his karma.

My regular doctor was booked so I saw him. Fractured my ankle, he said he'd oder me a boot & to not put any weight on it. After over a week & after 4 visits to see if he signed papers to get me the boot, still no boot & didn't sign the papers. This is dismissive & apathetic which makes me wonder why he became a doctor in the first place.

So I’ve been to one appointment with Dr. Backlas but from this visit it was very easy to tell I wouldn’t be going back. I wish I were able to find a physician that listens to my symptoms before diagnosing me. During my encounter he wasn’t attentive and had no bedside manner. When I told him the issues had persisted for over a year he just went back into my files and saw the first Medication I had already tried and wanted to represcribe it without telling me what’s wrong. I also told him that I was having an issue with doctors listening to my real problems (go figure) and he referred me right back to the GI specialist that was treating me the same exact way he had been. As well as asking me what course of action I’d like to take not once actually mentioning a single medical recommendation. “I can have you start on this medication if you want?” Or “i can have you send in a stool sample if you want?” By the end of it I literally had to tell him “sir I don’t actually want to be here but I… actually want to live, so if there’s any testing YOU need me to do so YOU as a medical professional can effectively diagnose me then I’ll do it.” He said his office would reach out to me for additional testing I said okay. 2 weeks later I receive a voicemail telling me I they are waiting for my results to come back in for this additional testing I was never called back in for.

If you don't know or want to think about health issues, and just want a doctor who can give you orders to follow, then Dr Backlas might be ok for you. I saw him twice; the first visit turned out quite poorly, and when I tried to turn things around on the 2nd visit, he walked out of the examination room in a huff, without having done what he said he'd do. So he's disqualified himself from being my doctor.
