Dr. Tyler R. Koski, MD

I had a previous complex spine surgery having had two titanium rods break afterwards, I am 5’8” when those rods broke it bent me in half to 5’2” with horrible pain my airway was restricted I seen no positive in sight; flying from Oklahoma to Chicago to see Dr.Koski and his team was a Blessing, he did just what he went over in the consultant prior to surgery I’m fused from my neck to rear with rods, wedges and screws I still have pain but I’m standing upright I’m 1 yr 5 days post op and so thankful I was fortunate enough to be under Dr.Koski’s care and the Shirley Ryan Ability Center Rehab.

I saw Dr Koski and was told he would spend a lot of time for the consult, instead I barely got 5 minutes of his time. He made his fellow do everything prior to him coming into the exam room. I assume it was partly because I am a medicare patient and he wouldn't get the reimbursement that he would get from a patient with group insurance. I was told nothing useful that I could do for my pain. I would not recommend him to anyone.

My treatments, from consultation to pre- and post-op, to follow-ups - were astonishing. And my actual surgical outcome has been like something out of a feel-good story. First, and I know that this may sound odd - nothing bad happened! None of the anxieties or things you don't want to dwell on came to pass. Next, the recovery and outcome were better than I privately anticipated. Dr. Koski listened with respect (not a foregone assumption with physicians). For example I requested he not use steroids unless medically absolutely necessary. He did not use steroids. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Koski and his team. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them.

I have had nothing but good interaction with D. Koski and his staff.

After seeing 2 other neurosurgeons for advice how to alleviate leg nerve pain from spinal compression I found the greatest in Dr Koski. He reviewed my scoliosis history and scans and knew exactly what needed to be done , and I’ve been pain free for 2 years!

Dr. Koski did 10 hour surgery on my back I don't think I would be walking today if not for him Everyone was amazed when I came home an I could stand up straight I am thankful everyday

He. Saved me. You realize how terrific he is after you deal with other surgeons.

Doctor Koski operated on my spine 3 times in Five days. His manners and bedside manner, helped my family and me, understand more of what was going on

We arrived for our appointment 1/2 hour early as instructed so x-rays could be taken. At one hour we asked the admission staff if the doctor knew we were here, and they purportedly called back and were told he was running late. At two hours we inquired again and were told he knew we were here but was running late. At two and a half hours we insisted that his nurse come out and talk to us and it turned out that his staff did not even know we were waiting and were wondering where we were. They rushed us in after that. Dr. Koski seemed like a nice and competent doctor but our whole experience was soured after that. We feel as if we were treated very shabbily.
