Dr. Watters also completed his surgical residency training at Duke University Medical Center. During that time he was very active in clinical research and also served as a resident team physician for the Duke University Men and Women’s Soccer teams and North Carolina Central University’s Football team.
After residency, Dr. Watters went on to complete an adult reconstruction fellowship at Colorado Joint Replacement, the premier hip and knee replacement center in Denver, Colorado and the …Rocky Mountain region.
Dr. Watters is skilled in multiple approaches for total hip replacement, including the direct anterior approach, an alternative approach to conventional hip replacement surgery that potentially allows for faster recovery.
In addition to joint replacement surgery, Dr. Watters performs arthroscopic surgery of the knee for sports injuries. Dr. Watters also has a dedicated interest in periprosthetic and lower extremity fractures.
