He did his medical training in India and finished his Psychiatry Residency and Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is Fellow of American Psychiatric Association and is Board Certified in both Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry. He was the Medical Director for Stanislaus County and Chief Psychiatrist for the Geriatric division over 10 years. Dr. Mukherjee treats adults of all ages with various psychiatric disorders. His area of special interest includes late life psychiatric illness and psychiatric illness associated with memory impairment. He believes in team work and involves patients in shared decision making. Dr. Mukherjee combines psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy in his practice and enjoys taking a whole person approach in patient care. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali.
