Dr. Ukana Okokon Bassey, DO

Had a similar experience as the other reviewers. My experience with this doctor was a masterclass in how not to treat patients. His attitude screamed superiority, as though simply asking clarifying questions was a personal insult rather than a normal part of seeking care. This man exudes unearned confidence, brushing off valid concerns and interrupting before you can even finish explaining your symptoms. It’s clear he’s more interested in hearing himself talk than in actually understanding what’s wrong. His dismissive behavior borders on dangerous—he refuses to consider patient input or alternative perspectives, even when it’s obvious his approach isn’t working. What’s worse, he seems to withhold or delay treatment out of pure ego, as though admitting uncertainty or trying a different approach would tarnish his fragile pride. That’s not medicine - that’s negligence wrapped in vanity. If you value your health, your time, or basic human respect, look elsewhere. I’m surprised he is… allowed to practice medicine.

He is extremely rude and very unprofessional. ER told us it was sepsis but wasn’t sure what is causing it.. so when he finally decided to show up, I asked him what was going on and he said “the ER didn’t tell you?” And I said no. This man LAUGHED and basically called me a liar. “I find that hard to believe”. Told him the pain and concerns we were having and he threatened us with being put on a ventilator. Next day comes and he tells us if blood work comes back okay, we are good to go home. I’m sorry, and I know I’m not a doctor, but when someone is running a fever and in constant pain without being able to eat and throwing up, something is wrong. Don’t trust him. He sucks and is such a waste of time.

I'm using one star because it makes you. This person was going to release my husband after teo weeks in the hospital with acute pancreatitis with NO TAKE HOME MEDS on a FRIDAY afternoon!!!! Who the heck would EVER send a gravely ill man into the streets with no way to even see a follow up doctor until likely mid to late week. Don't trust this man. Thank God the hospital and nurses fought with him citing the liability of releasing a patient with no care following a critical episode. What an idiot!!! Shout out to Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio and the staff/nurses for having more common sense than this IDIOT!!! I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS AND I DO NOT LIKE BEING NEGATIVE BUT I FELT IT WAS MY DUTY TO WARN OTHERS. STAY AWAY ... DON'T TRUST HIM.

Some of the worse communication skills I have ever seen in my life. What he said about my diagnoses and what he meant were two completely different things. Very rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend him to my worse enemy.
