Dr. Uma Sukumar Alampur, MD

Waited 2 hours for this woman to treat me with all of the arrogance and disregard of a junior high student. She came into the appointment with what seemed like preconceived notions that there is nothing wrong with me. My doctor said she suspected a serious disease and this neurologist told me nothing was wrong with me after performing and inadequate exam. The p a or student or whoever was with her questioned the doctor about a location on my back where I have many problems and symptoms that are visible inside and out. Ms Almapur immediately dismissed it and would not even check to see what the other woman was referring to. As it turns out I do have a very serious genetic illness which was diagnosed by a genetic counselor and then confirmed by rheumatologist and a dermatologist. However any physician even a GP should be able to diagnose my illness. It causes a multitude of problems many of which are neurological. I now have several tumors growing on my spine where she told me nothing… was wrong. She never took any images or even bothered doing a physical exam of the affected area. she insisted that I try to do things like walk on my heels which I know they make you do to assess for certain problems however I could not physically do it. She wrote down that I refused to do it and again that there was nothing wrong with me. Now several years later I am legally totally and permanently disabled. She was arrogant dismissive rude condescending ignorant all of the things a doctor shouldn't be. She needs to go back to school and while she's there take another course on bedside manner while she is learning about neurology. She makes her patients feel like cattle. She can't look at me in the eyes she didn't treat me like a human she didn't care for anything I had to say about problems I have or about family history or about what other doctors have said she simply did not care about anything except getting out of the room. I think I might have been interfering with her lunch hour. It was beyond a waste of time it was detrimental to my physical and mental health.

She listens to me and explains things fully. I feel well taken care of by Dr. Alampur. I would and have recommended her to all who need a neurologist.

Dr. Alampur is a caring and patient doctor who really, really listens to her patients. She is most definitely a rare breed of physician.

Dr. Alampur is very caring and compassionate. She spent a full half hour with me on our first visit and never made me feel rushed. I was extremely impressed by that. She was the first to diagnose me correctly. I had been to two other neurologists and neither of them knew what I had. She also validates what you feel, and feels there's a place for alternative medicine as well as conventional.
