Dr. Umapathy Sundaram, MD

For most of my life, I have had IBS flare-ups that have been at times embarrassing and have caused problems in my line of work for me. Since I started seeing Uma about 6 years ago things have been far more manageable and "predictable" for me. He was attentive and handled my issues with real importance. Thankful to have him take care of me. I wrote this review bc after i am just so impressed that he was able to recall all the details of my kids (proud mama) and my hubby and my life. Like that's a superpower that i don't see from other doctors. Shows a true caring heart. Can't say enough good things about him.

Wish I saw him years ago. Diagnosed my celiac sprue soon after our visit. Better late than never.

This gentlemen is a good man and fine healer. I can enjoy my favorite foods + drinks again without havin the fury of god rushing up my throat. Thank u Doctor Sundaram.

I found him to be courteous and very well versed in the area of Gastrology. He takes the time to boil down all the advanced medical mumbo-jumbo into things I can digest (pun intended). He is very prompt and doesn't act "holier than tho" like so many other physicians do. I have recommended him to every person I know with GI issues. The only issue I take is that I wish he had other days open to visit. Friday afternoons are completely free for me but his office told me he has other responsibilities with Marshall University. Regardless, I will make the time and effort to see this doctor because his great care is worth it. I recommend him highly to anyone.

This man understands the finite details of gastero/ digestive diseases. I was having all kinds of issues with IBD and whatnot and he took care of it in a few months time I started to feel back to normal. Looked him up and saw that he was an scientist too which is why he is the vice dean of the medical school Great overalhealthcare provider. Tough to get an appointment though he is probably in high demand. We need more docs like him in this WV/OH/KY area!

Excellent doctor. He saved me from the VA and he took it upon himself to figure out if it may had been a mixup with records at the va.

This man is just brilliant. Did a spy glass operation on me after I got turned away by UVA, Pitt med, Yale, and Johns Hopkins. If only we had more doctors like this who aren't afraid to help out all folks in need. This is a good guy right here. I'm a vet a he treated me with respect something we don't get in healthcare anymore.
