Dr. Umna Ashfaq, MD

Bad experience as a person. Seemed like a lost and found nut case! Such a person allowed to practice over such a long period is a testament of the checks and balance of the system. Off the hinge?

Seeing these low ratings regarding this doctor, I am not surprised. She was my Primary Care for a few years (approximately 5-6). At first she was super friendly and appeared to care. Later on in the course of seeing her, that changed. She was offensive and curt. When I breached a condition I was suffering from, she abruptly responded, asking me if I did oral sex. Once she said that I could not use the Lab available for patients at her employ, and I knew that I had insurance of such I qualified to be able to use anywhere. There was no really good follow up with my care, like further testing. I was suffering with a thyroid problem. She had another doctor see me, who recommended a test for my heart. As her patient, she never followed up with making this happen or looking further into this issue. I eventually returned to my former Primary Care Physician who got me to an endocrineologist who promptly diagnosed the thyroid problem and began treatment. She would ask me if I… wanted to return to my former Primary care physician. She told me that I could not have two primary care doctors, when I let her know that I sometimes saw a Doctor in my home town. I finally left her practice, and after reading the other ratings and reviews here, I am so glad I did. I did not have to endure her "I could care less" attitude and care. The LORD surely will not lead one wrong! She was evil!

Been sick for months went and saw reumatologist at shands was refered to internal meds. Something wrong but not reumatological. Saw Dr UMNA ASHFAQ and her assistant. Without looking at previous test results in their system and without looking at me but just going by a long list of symptoms I had printed out I was TOLD I WAS A HYPOCONDRIAC!!! White blood count high, lymphocytes high, liver numbers high diarhea for months swollen lymph glands for years, bloating, sweats, pain everywhere, numbness etc. And I was told I was a HYPOCONDRIAC! I will never go to shands again EVER!!

She is very rude to her nurses, the wait time is over 2 hours. She is out of order.

I wasnt too comfortable with Dr.Ashfaq. She didnt answer any of my questions but gave me a look as if I was asking stupid questions. I called 3 times and waited for more than two weeks for the results of my blood test but no one in the office is allowed to tell me the results because Dr. Ashfaq has not reviewed my blood test! My family has history of thyroid and I have recently started to have symptoms but I would not know for certain because Dr. Ashfaq didnt even bother to review my blood test results. I will never ever see Dr. Ashfaq and will not recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Ashfaq "if that's what you want to call her" is the most NEGLIGENT doctor I have come across in my entire life. She would not provide refills for "life threatening medications" (heart/thyroid)for an elderly woman who was completely out of refills!!! The patient would go DAYS w/o these meds until an appointment could be scheduled. We had asked her to see "this patient" while in the hospital, she NEVER came by, was not available for consultation on how to proceed or even able to consult w/ the doctor that was treating her in the hospital. Note: Dr. Ashfaq is a member of the hospital that this patient was in. She has no bedside manner, unpersonable and disrespectful. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT see this "doctor" and if you are one of her patients, please for your own safety and life, find a new physician. Dr. Ashfaq is not fit to practice medicine.
