Dr. Ursula Inge Ferguson, MD

I called Dr. Ferguson's office to schedule with her to find out why my hair was thinning. Instead, they initially stuck me with a different doctor that they *thought* was on my insurance. This other doctor scheduled bloodwork for me, and once I returned to go over it, I saw Dr. Ferguson. My labs were fine aside from low Vitamin D. She told me that does not cause hair thinning and looked at my scalp. She noted that I had fine hair. I agreed, but told her that although my texture is fine, the amount of hair on my head had decreased and I was losing huge clumps in the shower. She noted that I didn't have any bald patches and so she didn't even want to refer me to a dermatologist. I told her that it was thinning all over, not in patches and that I'd like a derm referral anyway as I had other things I'd like to check. She asked what and I said I'd like a skin check as I have melanoma and basal cell carcinoma in the family, and that I'd like to get some topical tret. She told me that… tretinoin has a black box warning and is very dangerous which is only true for the oral version which I didn't want. She also said I didn't have enough acne for it even though I get cystic acne frequently. She told me that I should just take a prenatal vitamin for my hair which makes no sense since she said earlier that my vitamin d levels couldn't be the culprit. I think she just wanted me out of her office because she didn't want to help. After I got the bill, I realized the insurance hadn't paid for my first visit because the doctor I saw initially wasn't on their plan. I had to go back and forth so many times with the billing department because they hadn't told me they'd scheduled me with an out of network doctor. Another patient of hers said they'd done the same thing, so it makes me wonder if they do it on purpose to try and get the full payment out of people. Luckily I'd worked in insurance billing for years and know my rights. I ended up finding a new doctor who did a wider range of tests and it turns out I lost my hair due to low ferritin and because it's been too long since it started, I wont be able to recover that hair. I would never recommend Dr. Ferguson to anyone. She does not care at all for her patients.

Dr. Ferguson has always provided excellent information regarding the weight reduction and long term management of weight loss for her patients. Her information is up to date and easy for me to understand and to follow. I have been a patient of hers for over 3 years and have complete trust in what she recommends.

She provided me with valuable knowledge how MOVE! will allow me to control my weight and manage it. She gave me great confidence in myself and motivated me to unite with my health care team in order to improve my health and reduce the cost of healthcare.

She is the rudest, most obnoxious person you will ever likely meet.
