In medical school, I learned that obtaining a history from the patient is 80% of the diagnosis. This tenet has been the guiding principle by which I approach the practice of medicine. So, my philosophy is to create an environment of open communication and partner with patients and families as a team to approach their care . I enjoy the field of Allergy-Immunology because I think that there is great potential to make a difference in a person's quality of life in treating asthma and allergic diseases. Also, I have the opportunity to treat both children and adults. I have a particular interest in food allergies, asthma, and anaphylaxis. I hail from the windy city of Chicago, Illinois and I moved to the Triangle in 1998 for my medical training. My husband and I fell in love with the warm weather, the people, and everything the Triangle has to offer so we decided to settle and raise our family here. When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children, reading, and …trying my hand at playing tennis.
