Dr. Valeri Koganski, MD

Buyer (patient) BEWARE. This doctor is all about the money! My dispute is over a $95 bill. I became a patient of Dr. Val Koganski who operates a holistic practice, Newtown Internal Medicine located in Langhorne, PA. I paid $600 for my initial consultation with him which was no more than an hour. He then prescribed supplements totaling more than $375. The following week, I had a question regarding the pain management method that he prescribed. I phoned into his office, a receptionist picked up the phone. I told her “I have a question for the doctor” and she replied, “so you’d like to do a telehealth with the doctor”. I replied, “no I would not, I simply have a question. Can you relay a message to him?" She places me in hold, and after a few seconds passed, the doctor picked up the phone. So we discussed the issue for about 3 or 4 minutes of telephone time. After a few weeks, I received a bill in the mail for $95. I called the office and stated, “I’m not sure why I am received a $95… bill", and the woman on the phone replied, “because you did a telehealth with the doctor”. I replied, “I did not do a tele-health and quite frankly, I specifically declined a tele-health, but simply had a question for the doctor and was only on the phone maybe 3 or 4 minutes. Nobody told me that there was going to be a charge for asking a question over the phone.” After calling me a few times on this in the ensuing weeks, they threatened to send this faulty charge to collections. I was outraged over how the doctor and his office staff handled this issue and felt it was a total injustice. Which leads to current day 3/8/2023. Low and behold, just about 3 years have passed, and just today I receive a phone call from a 'debt collector' and it is for this supposed $95 bill from Dr. Val Koganski of Newtown Internal Medicine. My first week or two of becoming his patient about 3 years ago, I paid the doctor almost $1,000 between consultation and supplements and then never actually received the treatment or care that I needed. No money was refunded to me and on top of that, they are still attempting to get $95 from me. A total outrage! Strongly recommend not attending this practice.

I agree 100% with the writer "Not As Good as it seems." 99.9% of Dr. Koganski's staff are very rude and condescending in their speech and attitude toward the patients. His medical assistant makes so many mistakes which he excuses or glosses over when he is spoken to regarding the issues. Her medical knowledge seems minimal. The wait time in the office is minimal. HOWEVER, I feel increasingly rushed by his assistants when taken back into the examining rooms prior to seeing the doctor. Usually he takes his time with you but lately seems rushed himself. I do like the fact that he does many tests that many other docs don't even know about and he also uses herbal medicines in his practice. Getting results on his website computer or trying to get answers via the computer is a joke. Bottom Line, If I had to do it over again, I would choose another doctor. He is ok BUT it is very difficult to communicate with the majority of his employees either because of their understanding or… their accents are hard to understand.

I saw Dr. Koganski for years before he became a concierge practice and the costs were too high for me. But now I've made an appointment with his Nurse Practitioner for the help I need.

Unfortunately we are very dissatisfied with the care. The communication is poor among the office staff and my wife and I and Dr. Koganski especially. His computer AND his phone has not been working . Therefore, for a time it was difficult to get any test results or talk to the doctor. Increasingly ,we feel he doesn't acknowledge our concerns and doesn't pay attention to our questions . It is his way or the highway. We may soon be taking the highway because of these issues and he is extremely expensive, especially when you are not getting acknowledged. He is pleasent enough but 99% of the staff are rude and condesening

Dr. Koganski is without question the best doctor I have ever encountered. His unique, holistic approach that enabled my recovery from a serious, near fatal illness included alternative therapies, medications (herbal, homeopathic, and traditional), and counseling on diet, rest, meditation, and exercise. Many physicians limit themselves to specific, generally traditional, treatments, but he has the flexibility to utilize whatever tools are best suited to the need, and is open to multiple alternative therapies that are supported by evidence of effectiveness, including medical acupuncture. He approaches every patient with the same intelligence, care, and compassion from which I benefited. He listens carefully and respectfully to our symptoms and concerns, and give each of us as much time and attention as is warranted. His dedication to his patients is especially apparent from his continuous learning of new and better approaches to medicine, and the personal sacrifices he makes to… advance his training. He has well-earned my confidence in him, and I readily refer my family, friends and work associates to his practice. I cannot express adequately the depth of my gratitude for what he has done for me and my family. I truly hope that I can benefit from his care for many years to come.

Dr. Koganski is one of those doctors who really cares about his patients. He takes the time to discuss everything that is going on with you and any of your concerns. His mind is moving so fast to figure what is wrong with you and how he is going to treat you. You never leave an appointment without knowing what is wrong and how he is going to treat you. He is truly concerned about your wellbeing. If I ever moved away I would still keep him as my doctor. He is that once in a lifetime that you need to keep. Thank you Dr. Koganski for everything you do for me and my family. Words could never describe how well you take care of me. A special word on his staff. They are fabulous!!!

I was a patient of Dr. K. for over 10 years, and truly liked and respected him; so much so that when he became a Concierge Physician a few years ago, I agreed to pay the (quite high) fee to stay with him. Now I can no longer afford this fee, dropped out of the Concierge program, and when I called recently to make an appointment, I was told that he couldn't see me and I had to schedule an appointment with his Nurse Practitioner. If you want to keep seeing him - prepare to pay.

Have been with Dr. Koganski for years and still want him to be my doctor even after having moved away from the area close to his office.

Very surprised at reviews. Found him to be dismissive, rude.

Dr. Koganski is the BEST doctor I have ever had as my primary physician. He is accurate in his diagnosis, takes time to explain things and does not over mediate.
