Dr. Valerie Ann Clemons, MD

Dr. Clemons helped both of my children tremendously. After going to many different providers, we finally ended with Dr. Clemons. My daughter came out of her first session saying "this was good for me." She worked hard with Dr. Clemons and made more progress in 6 months than with others in years.

Dr. Valerie Clemens has been working with my conditions for over a year. I figured it was time to address a very inaccurate review of her which was posted online. I have worked with a number of Psychiatrists for decades - Dr. Clemens was able to locate and diagnosis a condition I have which no other doctor could see. She is patient, professional, and dedicated to her work. On our first session (over zoom ) she took the time to fully understand and do an in depth analysis of who I was and what my problems were. There was none of this “get in em, nod, say uh-huh, and get them out the door for a day of rinse and repeat”. She cares. And she’s very dedicated. If you are looking for someone to open up to, she is the one who can take it in stride, and help you through it. Thank you for everything Doctor Clemens.

My pediatric son was seen by Dr. Clemons last year. She was quick to take my money at the time of the appointment (she does not accept any insurance) and promised to send a report to both myself and my son's psychologist. Six months later, still no report. She got the date of service wrong on my invoice, spelled our names wrong and never followed up with an appointment let alone an initial report, even after several requests from myself and my son's psychologist.

I have taken my daughter to many doctors over the years and Dr. Clemons is by far the most caring. She takes the time to talk to the whole family...although my daughter is the patient, she offers advice to all of us. She has gone out of her way on weekends and evenings to get us last minute prescriptions when I have failed to order them on time. Her diagnosis and treatment have been spot on. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing help with mental health issues!

If you are looking for a doctor who invites family input before making a diagnosis or prescribing meds then stay away. If you are looking for a doctor who believes that mental illness does not impact a family, or that impact on family is important then do not go. If you are looking for a doctor that is open to others opinions, is willing to advise second opinions, and discredits other professionals and informed family members then stay away. If you are looking for a doctor who truly knows about lack of insight and denial in possible bipolar then stay away.
