Dr. Valerie Jo Delmedico, MD

Dr Del Medico is the most detail oriented and thorough psychiatrist I have ever seen. I have been to numerous other psychiatrists but they were very brief with me, had little to no personality or manners, and did not examine the patient as a whole. Dr Del Medico is a welcomed departure from all of the others. She is extremely thorough and concerned with all of the details that play a role in your mental health. She ordered an extensive array of blood tests for me and determined I am deficient in certain vitamins so I could get supplements. My old psychiatrist would order 2 blood tests but Dr Del Medico ordered 30 tests! Nothing gets past her. She is very proactive, thorough, and extremely helpful. She educates her patients about their illness and keeps them in the know the whole way. I trust her much more than I have ever trusted any other psychiatrist. Highly recommended.

I have been seeing Dr D for the last 8 years. I had also seen her twenty years prior for about 5 years, but had to stop due to lack of insurance. When we reconnected, I was so happy because I’ve never met a person with better intuition. She has helped me through highs and lows and knows how my body will respond to certain supplements, which she favors over medications with side effects. She weighs out all the data, quickly, and makes her decision. I’ve been impressed and thankful to know her all these years. I highly recommend her!

Dr Valerie is usually running behind because she takes needed time with each patient she sees. She treats with medication but is also very well versed in supplements for psychiatric issues. She's especially good at treating ADD/ADHD & anxiety but treats just about everything.

I should start out by saying that Dr. DelMedico is a wonderful doctor. I do not have a problem with her or the care in which she has provided. The issue is the absurd wait times, the office, and the staff. Be prepared to wait for at least an hour after your scheduled appointment time to be seen. If you only have to wait an hour consider yourself luckily as I have always had to wait 90 - 120 minutes after my scheduled time to be seen. I'm fairly certain that the waiting area is only cleaned a couple times a year as there are usually dry, crunchy leaves scattered across the carpet at all times. It is one of the most disgusting unkempt offices. The staff is not professional. Having worked in the medical industry for over 10 years I understand the frustration they encounter on a daily basis. That being said, I would never treat any patient in such a rude manner.

The first time I saw the Dr. I loved her. She was extremely nice and caring. As I continued to see her it became apparent that she has way too many patients. She kept forgetting to check on things or mention things to me. Then the next appointmentb she'd be like "oh, I forgot last time..." Didn't even review my blood tests and the second time she had forgotten she just told me they're "probably fine" Probably? Why make me waste my time and money getting them when you don't even check the results?! Then the wait time was outrageous. The first time, I asked what was going on after 35 min and they tell me she's behind and there's one MORE person in front of me. I didn't wait around. Two more times I waited over 45 to an hour then left without being seen. They just told me "oh, she's always behind" Don't you think that means you need to do a better job at scheduling? I won't go back. What's the point in scheduling an appointment when you won't be seen until well after that time

Dr. DelMedico is a caring provider. She is willing to take the time needed to accurately manage her patient's medical and psychiatric problems. I will stay with her as long as she practices.

The best doctor I have EVER met. Compassionate, caring, smart, kind, a fabulous person and doctor. Uses all kinds of recent research info., is open to alternative med. if appropriate. LISTENS to you. I think she is way ABOVE others, and God knows I met some of them.
