Dr. Valerie Coble Pollock is originally from Angier, NC where she graduated from  Harnett Central High School in 1994.  She then attended the University of North  Carolina at Wilmington where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology in  1998.  In 2002, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University    of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Dental School, with honors.  She purchased her      practice in Burgaw in 2004.  Dr. Pollock is married to Burgaw native Rhett Pollock who  practices law there with his father Harold Pollock. She is affiliated with the Academy  of  General Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the American Dental    Association.  Dr. Pollock resides in Pender County with her husband Rhett, dog Sam,  and cat Sampson.  Dr. Pollock and her family are proud to call Pender County their  home.
 Dr. Pollock understands the importance of continuing education because of ever … changing technology in dentistry.  She is committed to improving technical skills to  promote professional and personal excellence.  She strives to promote long term  patient relationships through quality oral care and patient education.
Dr. Pollock grew up in a family of water skiers.  Her Mom, Dad, Sister, and Brother-in-law own Coble Water Ski School in Lillington, NC, about 1 hour and 15 minutes away from Burgaw.  It is the largest water ski school in the world and host families, kids, and individuals each week for camp.  Dr. Pollock grew up competing on the national level in waterskiing and it still remains a passion of hers today.  Her sister April is still ranked as one of the top female skiers in the world and holds 28 National Championship titles, Overall US Masters title, and 2010 Malibu Open Title.  Dr. Pollock's mom, Shirley Coble, won the NC State Championship title, Southern Regional Championship Title, and was a Silver medalist at the US National Water ski Championships this year.  Not too shabby for age 66!!  Dr. Pollock also holds many State, Regional, and National waterskiing championship titles.  Dr. Pollock's dad, Gary Coble, was the steadfast water ski coach for all the family over the years.  He also holds several State Championship titles.  One year all four members of the family won the State Championships together in each of their divisions.  Dr. Pollock is very proud of her family.  If someone at the office has to be out on short notice you will sometimes find Dr. Pollock's mom up front greeting patients and answering the phone.  Like our motto states, "at our office you are not just another smile in the crowd; you're part of our family."  If you would like to know more about the Coble family please visit the ski school website at www.cobleskischool.com.
