Dr. Valery D Tarasenko, MD

After years and years of using strong opiate based pain medicines, I found Dr. Valery D. Tarasenko, MD at the Advanced Pain Management Institute in Vacaville. I was referred to this clinic through Travis Air Force Base and the Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System. I am being treated with Trigger Point Injections using Lidocaine. These monthly injections have ELIMINATED all the pain medicine I was prescribed in the past. Dr. Tarasenko and all his helpful staff have given me much needed pain relief and the ability to function again...

Dr. Tarasenko only wants to inject you to make $. He does not care to even investigate the cause or root of the problem. When you tell him you would prefer to find the issue before treating an unknown cause of pain he immediately becomes frustrated and does not care to continue with the appointment. Staff are all friendly, office is clean, but it is clear he is not in the medical field for the patient care. Only to make $ off as many injections he can bill you or your insurance for. I have now discovered I had a severe issue that he did not want to research and insisted that it was not that. Dr. change will be soon to follow.

I have had quite a few procedures done to relieve pain by Dr. T. He is very, very experienced and has my complete trust. I regret that his services are no longer covered by my health insurer ):

I Love, Love the care, the attention, & the management of my pain that Dr. Tarasenko provides!! He took his time with me & was patient & kind!! I wish I did not have to leave Vacaville to be closer to my Children.

He has absolutely no regard for the pain & suffering of his patients (ironic he is in pain mgmt!!!). It wasn't that I caught him on a "bad day"... I saw him 4 times (regretfully) but ONLY since my health plan required first trying this avenue prior to proceeding with other more radical solutions for my med problems. This man has the attention span of a gnat; he jumps up and down, disappearing to who knows where, numerous times during MY VISIT. Each appointment could've been over with in the 10 or so TOTAL MINs he spent in the room with me, but I was there HOURS (from waiting room to sitting alone in exam room), then during the 3rd visit when he jammed a needle in my neck (a procedure I hadn't heard of prior to seeing him) he made things worse than before. He reminded me of that sadistic Dr (Laurence Olivier) in the RUNNING MAN movie (performing his sadistic acts on Dustin Hoffman). It's hard to believe this "doctor" has any patients who are satisfied, or return for future… visits. I could go on more about the awful experience(s) I had at his office (and what a RUDE person this man is) - but I hate re-living the terrible memory. P.S. nice sympathetic staff however....

If you have chronic pain make sure to have your thyroid levels checked. This doctor neglected to do this for me and then blamed the lack of testing on my primary care doctor. He did not review the questionnaire s thoroughly that I filled out stating that I was tired all the time. He was overbooked and always made you wait for ever. He gave me the impression all he was interested in was staying out of trouble with the DEA and making as much money as he could at the expense of his patients. Hope you have better luck.

Rudest, most arrogant doctor I have ever had the displeasure of having an appointment with. To top it off they had me do a UA and charged $600, for a test that looked like it had come from Rite Aid. And of course my insurance would not pay for the test because it was exorbitant. Don't waste your time. Find a different doctor

I have been seeing Dr Tarasenko for about 2 years. He has helped me tremendously with my pain issue. Wonderful bedside manner, wonderful treatment. Dr Tarasenko always involved me with the plan of care. I am so grateful to have gotten to have him for a pain management physician. Because of him, I am now able to walk without excruciating pain and feel as though I have a new lease on life. Able to enjoy activities that were restricted by my pain.

Hes rude. Has no compassion whatsoever and his staff are under qualified and have no class. Theres one particular that has been there many years. Shes never able to get authorizations from my insurance company in time, I ALWAYS HAVE TO DO IT MYSELF. I have no idea why he got into the business of helping people. He clearly is in it for his paycheck and THATS IT! As for me I have had enough and will never be back.

Get you in, Get a preliminary drug test so they can have the green light to dose you up, n keep u comin back for more. Dr. Peterson right next door is in cahoots. I was recommended by someone who had a good experience, but they were on they opiate train and if you haven't learned your lesson with that yet, only a matter of time.
