Dr. Valeska Balderas, MD

Please go Somewhere else for GI issues. This dr is the worst. She was taking to someone on the phone giving results and seemed so smug about it all. After my endoscopy at DHR, when I asked her how everything went during the procedure, she told me she was wasn’t going to waste my time explain it to me because I wasn’t going to remember! Well I remember enough to remember her extremely rude comment. She is so rude and condescending. Left her office in tears.

Being first time patient you would expect the doctor to explain more about the condition you have get to know more about your medical history. As a new patient you go in with the hope you get answes as to why you any have GI issues, what can you do to improve them, what is the next step and if scheduled for procedure explain the procedure because not everyone is aware of medical terminology and procedures. Well everything you would expect from a doctor as a new patient she did not do. Her visit literally took like 5 minutes.

I’ve come across many doctors and have never met a person so cold hearted,not helpful, very arrogant, and not supportive nor does she even look into patient past medical history! plus you can tell it’s just about the money in that office. Her consultation was about 10 mins for a diagnosis that is a severe condition according to her! Thank god she isn’t the only GI doc in the RGV! Went for a second opinion. Do not recommend her at all!

Dr. Balderas is a wonderful doctor. She made me feel completely at ease during my treatment and gave me all the information I needed to continue to care for myself after surgery. Even after I moved to Austin, I still make the drive to see her. The staff is incredibly warm and accomadating, going above and beyond to help with billing and insurance questions and concerns. I recommend her to anyone looking for a GI and will continue to do so.

Beware they will have you see the PA because the Dr has too many patients.

I visited Dr. Balderas for a issue I was having with my throat. She explained the procedure and made sure I was comfortable with the process. Dr Balderas followed up with a call to my wife and was very compassionate about my treatment. She was very knowledgeable about my issue and I'd definitely recommend anyone to seek her out, if they ever have any questions.

Regular doctor moved practice so wound up with her. Wish the other physician was still there. Appointments are cancelled at the last minute after I've asked for time off from work but no one bothered to speak to me about it.

I was very pleased with Dr. Valeska Balderas, who was very patient and kind with me. She made me feel very comfortable. I feel that I can trust her with my care.

I saw Dr. Balderas for colon issues. She explained different illnesses that might be going on very knowledgable, caring physician, bedside manners are phenomenal, takes her time w/her patients it's worth the wait to see a great Dr. I also mentioned to her I was having upper GI issues, acid reflux, and she recommended for me to have an Endoscopy as well, since I was already going to be scheduled for Colonoscopy. I'm glad she convinced me, upon doing the Endoscopy she found an Ampullary Nodule in the small intestine, that eventually can turn into "Cancer" if not taking care off. I can honestly Thank Dr. Balderas, for taking the time to convince me to have the Endoscopy done. Thanks to God biopsy came back negative for Cancer. Dr. Balderas has recommended I have an Endoscopy every 6 months to follow-up on the Ampullary Nodule. Expalined everything to my wife & myself & we're very pleased with her bedside manners, made sure we didn't have any other questions before leaving. I do highly… recommended Dr. Balderas as a GI physician.
