Dr. Valisia Ann Andrews, MD

I saw Dr. Andrews in 2019. Things started well enough, but her attitude got worse and worse as my pregnancy progressed. She became very short with me and seemed uncaring. Her assistant Shannon frequently made scheduling mistakes and always seemed confused. Plus, the office was very unorganized. The final straw was when Dr. Andrews tried to bully me into a scheduled c-section, telling me that I would "bleed out and die on the table" if I tried to have my baby naturally. I'd previously had a myomectomy so there was a chance of uterine rupture, but Dr. Andrews wouldn't even have a discussion with me about my options. When I told her I wanted to try for a vaginal birth, she literally laughed in my face and said, "it ain't gonna be with me!" So, I took my business elsewhere. I switched to Dr. Joseph Tate during my third trimester, and it was the best decision I ever made. I delivered my baby vaginally and drug-free without any complications.

Dr. Andrews was my OBGYN for my 2nd child. This second pregnancy was very special to me and my experience with this office was less than ideal. I am writing this review in hopes that no one will have to experience a delivery like mine. The morning of the day I delivered, I began experiencing contractions as soon as I woke up at 10 am. The contractions were about 15 mins apart at that time. I also went to the bathroom and noticed spotting. My contractions were consistent and started becoming closer together. By 2pm they were about 7 mins apart and started feeling more intense. I was reluctant to contact Dr. Andrews due to a false alarm I had a month prior. I decided to call the office and was told she would call me back. About 45 mins later I received a call from the Dr. I told her that I was experiencing contractions 7 mins apart and they were pretty intense. She told me not to come to the hospital until I couldn't walk, talk or barely stand up. I was confused as to why I would have to… be in such distress to go to the hospital. I then waited. Went to the bathroom a second time and noticed much more spotting. With the encouragement from my husband and mother, I decided to go to the hospital, it was 7:30 pm. By that time my contractions were about 4 mins apart and very intense! When I got to the hospital, the nurse checked me I was 1 inch and a half dilated. When she notified Dr. Andrews she gave me an option to go home or stay for a few hours. I went to the bathroom again at the hospital and there was way more blood then last time and it didn't make since to me why I was even given the option to go home. Dr. Andrews finally came into the room and acted as though she NEVER gave me the option to leave and acted as if I wanted to leave and was giving her a hard time. My Mother and I were both flabbergasted, like huh! I'm here because I NEED to be. Sometime went on and my contractions started becoming very painful about 2 mins apart, then my water broke. There was an unusual amount of blood, even the nurse was unsure of why there was so much blood. This ENTIRETY time I was NOT checked by Dr. Andrews one time to see if I was further dialeted. I was then given an epidural. Dr. Andrews came into the room dimmed the lights and told me to get some sleep. Even with the epidural I was still feeling sharp pains. I felt the sharpest pain that felt like a shock. I then screamed, Dr. Andrews then FINALLY checked me and said "Oh, that's the babies head!" A group of nurses and staff ran in and started getting things together. The pain was so severe and I was told to just hold my legs closed. I couldn't believe what was happening! Why was I NEVER checked by the Dr. until it was time for delivery?! Why was everything so unorganized and brought together at the last minute?! She was not warm and comforting, but very unengaging. A time that was so special and dear to me turned out to be stressful, uncomfortable and worrisome. I hope that me sharing my experience will make a difference for the next woman bringing a beautiful blessing into this world

She was my first OB when I moved and delivered my first baby. She took the time to educate me on everything that I needed to know. I had complications with the birth, she worked quickly and ensured that me and baby were good. A week after delivery, I felt sick and went the the hospital. They sent me home. I went to see her and she had me admitted for pneumonia. She probably saved my life!

Dr. Andrews has been my GYN doctor for over eleven years.She is very professional and her knowedge of patient care is excellent. I had a medical complication that no one else could treat and she diagnosised me and treated me on the same visit.

Very Good Doctor the best at what she does. I would not go anywhere else I would let her deliver all my babies because she takes time with her clients and make sure they are confortable and understand everthing they need to know.

Great Doctor she delivered all three of my kids would not go to no one else. Very professional.

Dr. Andrews is a very knowledgeable and compassionate physician who treats the whole patient. She encourages you when you face health challenges and she presents your available medical options in a manner that you can understand.

she is so caring and cares about my health not like other doctors...like almost all of them all they seek is money... we should have more doctors like her...
