Vanda R. Niemi

I went to Dr. Niemi with a serious nuero issue. Something that has been escalating and developing over a few years. Dr. Niemi made me feel unheard and was dismissive of my input. Made me feel alone in a very scary situation. Furthermore, her treatment plan was not inline with current medical research and would absolutely put me at risk for further decline. When presented with what I was comfortable doing (and is regarded by experts as the current best path forward) she just referred me to someone else. Extremely disappointing. Advice for Dr. Niemi: Retire! You obviously care more about what you think you know rather than keeping up with modern medicine or listening to your patients. I now will need to explore other neurologists, have a delay in reasonable and effective treatment, and am out thousands of extra dollars for visits with Dr. Niemi.

This doctor does not believe in chronic pain.

A tree fell on me, leaving me with potentially frightening diagnoses of subarchnoid hemorrhage traumatic brain injury. Both my husband (attorney) and I found ourselves thrilled to be in the competent, reassuring and empathic care of Dr. Niemi. Through knowledge, and careful listening and reading my history, she efficiently diagnosed my lingering problems as coming from the neck injury rather than the brain injury, and perscribed medication which addressed the issue expeditiously. We were both impressed at her knowledge, and more, at her manner. I would recommend her to anyone.

I waited 45 minutes to see Dr. Niemi. I have seen SEVERAL other doctors for the same problem and they all gave me the same prescription. Dr. Niemi was supposed to be my last resort for my problem and should have given me medication to control my symptoms. Instead, she sent me back to square one- JUST THE SAME as all of the regular doctors and chiropractors that I have seen. I thought she would do A LOT MORE for me.
