Dr. Varonica Barr Dixon, MD

This woman is in the wrong field. I just had a terrible experience with this Dr. This woman actually body shamed my 4 year old daughter today, telling me she was too thin and needed to gain more weight. My daughter is healthy and happy, eats well, and had a wonderful imagination before she stepped into this office. This woman then asked my daughter if she believed in unicorns, when my daughter said yes she laughed and said “oh really.” And wrote down some nonsense in her computer. I should’ve walked out right then and there. My daughter has more magic in her than this lady can even begin to dream herself into thinking she’s a good person. Thanks to her my daughter is now telling me that certain things “aren’t real.” This woman also diagnosed my daughter with a disease without even testing her for it! I told her what another dr said and actually tested her for and she just brushed it off, assuming that she was the all mighty powerful pediatrician who can diagnose someone without even… testing them. She then had the audacity to try and get me to give my daughter her vaccines that she needs to get into school NEXT YEAR! When I told her we would just schedule an appointment for that when the time comes she tried guilt tripping me, telling me that if I wait we’re going to miss the first 2 weeks of school waiting for her shots. Calm down lady, there’s a full year to get this done! Never in my life have I as a parent been more shamed in one sitting. From the amount of milk I give my daughter, to giving her French fries on occasions, to allowing her to believe in unicorns! No wonder kids are growing up confused, stressed, and full of anxiety… you have people like this poor excuse of a dr telling you you need to grow up faster, and that you’re not good enough to meet her standards on her graphs and charts. Do yourself a favor and steer clear, this woman needs to retire already.

First & last time my son will be seen by this pediatrician. I made an appt for an annual check up with her due to my son's primary doctor cancelled his appt & wanted to reschedule 2 months later. Dr. Dixon came into the room very demanding, asking why I made an appt with her & not with his primary (who cancelled on us). Then stated I was making it "hard" for her to do her job. If you are looking for a pediatrician, stay away. This Doctor made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her. Very rude & unprofessional.

if it was possible to give no stars I would. This doctor is ridiculous. My husband took my son in who has had a cough for over a month and keeps having fevers on and off. He has been on antibiotics for over a week and nothing has helped his cough. The very first thing this doctor does accuse my husband of smoking and tells him t to stop. When he tells her he does not smoke she then tell him to tell his wife to stop smoking. He tells her his wife does not smoke. No 1 in our family smokes.she just quickly looks at our son and says he has a virus and he will get over it. $15 A total waste of time and getting insulted

I was recommended this doctor by my co-workers however my gut feel based on the reviews here was that I should not have even had my child seen by her. My daughter has been suffering for 4 months with a cough and congestion. With all the details I provided to her she was never able to give any diagnosis. I was sent to two different specialists and had to get a myriad of tests until the last one was able to figure out that it was a sinus infection. She is a good listener and note taker but for someone with the many years of experience I don't know why it took this long and was given the run around when she could have ordered the tests needed herself to make this diagnosis. Definitely will be looking for another pediatrician.

If this Dr. spends 3 minutes with you, its alot for her. I have never had a dr zip in and out so quickly. I have literally had to shout out something very relevant and important to her as she is rushing out the door.
