Dr. Varuna Raizada, MD

Vaginal ultrasound was ordered and pelvic floor therapy was recommended by Dr. Raizada after NO significant findings. I knew better since I’ve been in excruciating pain on and off for years with three misdiagnoses. Paid out of pocket for consult, another vaginal ultrasound, and follow up. Time between both ultrasounds was around three weeks. I’m stage IV endometriosis with possible bowel infiltration and diaphragmatic infiltration and recommendation is complete hysterectomy. Diagnosing surgeon is recommending bowel surgeon be in OR too. Uploaded new findings to portal for Dr. Raizada to review, and she is still recommending pelvic floor therapy. You don’t get to stage IV without prior issues, all of which were written off by other Scripps’ doctors: sciatica, interstitial cystitis, and fibromyalgia.

Dr. Raizada treated as if I was the only patient on her calendar that day. She was patient, kind, warm, and very informative. She took the time to explain what my body was going through and why. She offered great adice for treatment. I left my appointment feeling heard and cared for. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

She performed a procedure on me and afterwards I was in excruciating pain and couldn’t walk. I asked if I could have one or 2 pain pills to get me through the next 12 hours and I was told to use Vaseline. What kind of doctor has no regard for your pain and is totally dismissive of it?

Never have I been so rudely treated by a doctor at Scripps Clinic. We went from talking about care to I might have cancer & need to have a bunch of intrusive and expensive tests!! Needless to say I won’t be going back to see her.

Absolutely awful experience. Gaslit me the whole time, and dismissed all of my symptoms. Wouldn’t even run any tests or bloodwork, she just said I didn’t have something without testing or letting me finish my sentence. My symptoms are really bad and I know pelvic floor therapy will not be the magic treatment. I also felt very frustrated when I was talked down to the whole time like I’m an absolute idiot. If you need to see a urologist, or gynecologist do not see her !!

I would like to echo the negative review that was previously written. I had a similar experience.

Behaved one way when we were alone and another when the nurse was there. No respect for boundaries, or your RIGHT to have them. No empathy. Talked down to me, insulted my referring doctor and their intelligence, insulted me. Inappropriate body language. Had either an ego and/or anger issue. Then blamed me! Never felt so uncomfortable around a doctor in my life. No respect for privacy. Did not want to listen, dismissive. Had her mind made up without allowing me to be heard, or even looking at all the symptoms, including labs - only wanted me to tell her one symptom which will eventually force an unnecessary return visit. Put on a "nice doctor" show when other people where in the room but treated me differently when they weren't. I was in tears, I won't back!!!!!!!
