Dr. Vasudevan Unnithan Raghuraman, MD

He was very rude and always interrupted me. Even when I was answering his questions. Will not be going to him again.

installed PEG tube incorrectly resulting in pressure wound, infection and a 3 day hospital stay. terrible communication skills, no follow up.

He dropped me as a patient because my condition made me unable to even make it to preopt before my procedure. He should have done it as an inpatient in the hospital. I'm mostly bedridden with little hope.

I had a colonoscopy done. The doctor came into the room, introduced himself and made me feel very comfortable. After the procedure he explained the results to my husband. I was pleased with the care I received.

Very poor patient interaction, OTC medication not working, said to continue them, lose weight. Spent approx. 10 minutes on a new patient visit. The rest was on a form I filled out before the visit. Took 3 months to get the appointment, even though I do not need a referral through my insurance. Did not explain or instruct on diaphragm exercises he said I needed to do, only lose weight and stay on the meds that are not working. I have Barrett's Esophagus, so this is not appropriate care.

Incorrect diagnosis. Talked over the husband the entire visit, did not address questions or concerns. When further testing was requested due to his misdiagnosis he refused to order them. Once we were able to see my husband's medical file we realized that not only had he misdiagnosed him completely but he had added things to his medical file that were completely untrue, not one time but twice. Prescribed medication that could have caused great harm due to the incorrect medical history he entered in husband's file. We were referred to another doctor who caught the mistakes he made and ran the tests that were able to diagnose what my husband actually had. BOTTOM LINE - Arrogant, rushed and false patient history. Do not trust Dr. Raghuraman or his staff if you want adequate medical care. Patient's should not have to question medications they are being prescribed by any doctor let alone a "specialist."

Dr Raman just leaves you guessing there must not be a problem because he didn't say anything to you? Not personabale, barely took the time to answer my questions and not thoroughly at that.

I saw Dr Raghuraman 4 years ago as a follow-up to being treated by him while I was pregnant and in the hospital. While I was pregnant I was hospitalized for severe chest pain, under Dr Raghuraman's care I began to respond to medicines for an esophageal ulcer. He did seem to have good bedside manner, although I was very out of it due to the level of pain I was in. After my daughter was born I saw the doctor for an upper GI and follow-up. I was very disappointed in my follow-up. Prior to my appointment his office sent me a medical journal article on the condition he found during my upper GI. At my appointment I had some questions and he merely asked if I had read the article, as if that should have been enough. I am not a medical professional, I should not have been made to feel ridiculous for having questions about the condition.

Very poor office staff. Went to appt. just to be told I didn't have one. Come back in 3 months! Likes to have massive testing done found nothing. Now wants more testing. Had colonoscopy, polyps removed (3) haven't heard a peep out of him about results, called got such a run around I hung up phone. Still don't have any results. Looking for new doctor!

Had a colonoscopy and upper GI done. Good job, excellent care, full color report that made the results understandable to me. When I called back after asking what to do next since the removed polyps didn't slow the elimination symptoms at all, they were confused... it was like, "what do you mean, what's next? We cut something out of you. Do you honestly expect us to look at your symptoms as well!??" (not an exact quote, but that's the gist) After a day or so they called me back and said "we'll try you on an antibiotic and see what that does." I sent my sone to get the antibiotic and he comes back with a receipt for $300 AFTER INSURANCE! They prescribed an antibiotic that cost over $65 a pill, which my insurance covered $45 of. Couldn't yell at my son, he just did what I told him to. Couldn't return a prescription, they wouldn't take it back. Dr. Raghuraman's office said, "gee I had no idea it was a pricey scrip... have a nice day". Other than a piece of meat they could open the… hood and turn a wrench on and close me back up, this doctor's staff could care less if I got better or dropped off the planet.
