Dr. Veena Sarah Abraham, MD

I wish I could give her 0 stars. Completely cold, seems to have a grudge against anyone who meets with her, and forgets information within minutes! The office is wonderful, never had a problem with any other staff or NP. But goodness, she should NEVER be allowed anywhere near emotionally vulnerable people. And to any readers, be aware of this office policy: I was ready to leave the practice, but stayed for my amazing therapist. She appealed to her supervisor, but to no avail: If you have a terrible experience with an NP, you HAVE to see them again to be reassigned. No exceptions, you're trapped til you do. I cannot consider seeing this woman again for my own health. Now, I'm forced to be unmedicated, because they remove you from the practice if another doctor prescribes meds for you. If they want you to see her, IMMEDIATELY refuse. It is WELL WORTH even taking a full day off work rather than meeting her. This is one person whose reviews I should not have ignored for convenience.

Dr. Abraham is very unprofessional. My mother is currently suffering from depression. She had an appointment to see this doctor, who showed up 15 minutes late to the clinic. Dr. Abraham not only showed up late but also had a trouble turning on her computer. She made us wait another 45 minutes -- the wait time made my mom more anxious as she has already given up hope on all type of treatment. After an hour, this doctor calls us in her office to tell me that my mother cannot be treated at the family service clinic (Huntington) and she needs to be admitted to the hospital. She asked my mom irrelevant questions that she had already asked on her first appointment. She did not have any notepad to take any notes so she pretended to take notes on a tiny post it. Then she disappeared for another 10 minutes to look for a consent form. She does not have any interpersonal skills nor is she capable of consoling depressed patients. She talks with a straight face in a mono tone voice without showing… any empathy. Doctors like her should not even be allowed to practice medicine. I am so disappointment by the way she handled my mother's case basically making a joke out of her illness. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

She should be removed from practice.
