Dr. Veer Kirtikumar Chahwala, MD

I was scheduled to have two procedures with this doctor, whom I have never met before. I was anxious about the procedure because I had not been educated on it. When I met with this doctor before the procedure, he had zero bedside manner. He didn’t even know what procedure he was doing on me. He tried to correct me on the veinous disease that I have and he corrected wrong. When I asked questions about his experience in veinous surgery and his background he got extremely defensive saying he had plenty experience in it but then he said he didn’t. He counteracted him self multiple times and never reassured me. I already had my IV in and I felt so uncomfortable I chose to leave and not get the procedure. They pushed me to sign the consent form before discussing the procedure before hand. There was no informed consent. Stay far away from this doctor, I can’t say that enough.

Omgosh, He is the best! I didn't think I would ever be able to walk semi-normally again. My veins are tiny and all were clogged leaving very minimal blood flow. He performed stent surgery on me the day after Christmas 2019. I was a high risk patient and it was a successful surgery. Lasted longer than anticipated but he stayed with me after surgery along with the nurse long after other patients had gone home late in the day. He was very professional and genuinely cared for my wellbeing. I highly recommend him, his staff and hospital affiliation with Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. I'm not at 100% with my legs but I am at 60% left, 70%right and I'm happy with that because without him and his surgery I had a good chance of losing my legs over the next couple of years. I can now walk with my young granddaughters and that's a wonderful feeling. I still have limits and not walk as fast or as long but it is a great improvement from where I was a couple of months ago.
