Dr. Velmina Santos-Rivera, MD

Dr. Velmina Rivera received her certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 1997 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In the Philippines, she received a bachelor of science degree with honors in medical technology from the University of Santo Tomas in 1982, and in 1987 earned her medical degree from the University of the East. In 1997 Dr. Rivera completed her pediatric training at Jersey City Medical CenterSeton Hall, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Prior to joining Advocare Marlton Pediatrics in 2005, Dr. Rivera spent eight years as an inpatient pediatrician in the Virtua Health System, where she treated patients on the pediatric floor, in the emergency department, and in the intensive care nursery. Her pediatric interests include asthma management and follow-up care for the premature newborn. She is affiliated with Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey and Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
