Dr. Vera Ann Barile, MD

This doctor has projected her own fears on me. Twice. She has also been rude and unprofessional and failed to ask important questions that could have helped with a diagnosis of an infection. The last time I saw her for my 6-week postpartum visit, I went in with a fever. Instead of saying hello to my newborn son or congratulations to me, she began the appointment by lecturing me that I shouldn’t be there because I was exposing everyone to the flu. She did not ask any questions about breast pain or a possible UTI or run any tests except a vaginal swab. She decided I had the flu so any possibility of another problem impossible. As it turned out, I had mastitis, which took another 24 hours of fever and aches to figure out and get antibiotics for. Thank goodness for nurse Sarah! In addition, toward the end of my pregnancy, she was so fearful because of my age (42) that she would have preferred I get a c-section to going home after a failed attempt at induction. She was angry and used… intimidation techniques to get me to to go back to the hospital right away, such as saying, “I have 30 years experience and you should listen to me.” This was not because of any evident danger to my body or to my baby, only- her fear. Last, her nurse, Lilia, is not only rude but also incompetent. She has made me wait 45 minutes to get Dr. Barile’s signature on a letter where she had spelled my name incorrectly, she refused to write me a letter to excuse my partner from work directly after giving birth (again, thank-you, Sarah!), and during my last appointment, she did not even look me in the eyes and hardly spoke to me. When other nurses and colleagues of Dr. Barile have said to me, “I’ll deal with her,” and “your doctor called and yelled at us,” I have found it is time to find a new doctor. You should, too.

Although there was a bit of a wait , she spent the time that I needed to explain my ongoing problems. She took each issue and gave me options. Was not rushed because of my list of problems. Happy to find her. For those of you who can't wait , go to another practice. You will not be as happy.

her appointment was way over booked. She accepted too many patients and she cannot handle it. We have to wait in waiting room for 30 minutes to 1 hour. then 30 minutes in exam room. She will spend 1-2 minutes with patient. Never reminder patient to leave urine sample and never look for urine sample test result. never ask patient to get vaccination during pregnancy. Horrible service.

Great physician, however always appears to be in a rush. I think her staff over books her. Once you've arrived at appointment, expect to wait to awhile to see her. Due to over booking, she runs late.

Dr. B. has been in practice for a long time and has a long following. I am saddened by the negative comments as that is a side I have never seen in th 20 years that I have seen her. If you expect every doc to be on time with the new EMR, think again. If you think that she does no have a bedside manner, maybe you should look at your own personality. I went to several docs before I was accurately dx by Dr. Barile. Move out of her practice and let those of us who appreciate her have the time for an appt.

Dr. Barile is nice... But that seems to be where the good stops. The wait time to see her is always at least 20 minutes. She spends no more than 2-3 minutes with you. She seems to have little to no time to answer questions and does not listen to your concerns. Scheduling with her can be difficult and roughly half of the front office staff is not friendly or helpful. The other half of the staff is friendly. Last, the office is not good about responding with lab results. I would not recommend seeing this doctor if you are a person who likes to be informed and appreciates someone who listens.

Worse Dr. Ever... Almost died because of her negligence. She ignored all my symptoms and delayed my c-section even though it was known that I was at risk. Given that I had a repeat c section, full placenta previa, big baby and continuous contractions... my c section should have been planned sooner than it was. Other doctors also questioned her judgement at the hospital when I reached emergency ward after a frantic 911 call. She also told me incorrect results about being positive for group b strep test because of which an unnecessary blood test was performed on my newborn. Also She does not stay for more than 2 minutes during office visits.Will never recommend to her to anyone

Dr, Barile and her staff are incredibly helpful and courteous. Every time I have called with a question, they either answer it right away or call be back within the hour. I just recently changed insurance carriers and had to jump through many hoops to retain Dr. Barile as my OB/GYN, but it was well worth it. I hope to continue being a patient for as long as she is in practice.
