Dr. Carriere, Jr., was born in New Orleans. He graduated from Jesuit High school then attended Louisiana State University where he graduated summa cum laude. He has received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School of New Orleans. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Carriere is currently an active member in the American College of Gastroenterology, Jefferson Parish Medical Society, American Gastroenterology Association and American Society for Gastroenterology Endoscopy. He regularly attends national meetings and seminars on the latest advances in the field of gastroenterology. Dr. Carriere is active staff at East Jefferson General Hospital. He lives in Metairie, LA with his wife and three sons.

Great doctor who has been there for me over the years. He has kept me healthy and free from colon cancer by taking the necessary steps by removing polyps and encouraging me to continue testing every three years. I feel blessed to be under his guidance. Cathy Callaghan

Dr carriere is always on time he is very professional and ver y personable He answers all questions so a lay person can understand When called for assistance by phone provides answers promptly. Very good doctor

Dr. Carriere is a GREAT doctor!! Wait time was not long at all! He helped me with my issue and made me feel very comfortable! Would definitely recommend him for any gastro issues!!

My only regret is that I did not know about Dr. Carriere earlier. For years I had been seen by countless other physicians who only dismissed my health concerns with creams and suppositories which had little to no effect on my symptoms. I almost gave up and thought I would have to live in pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Carriere not only treated me , he accurately diagnosed what the real health problem was and changed my life for the better.
