It was a pleasure having Dr. Velanovich as my surgeon. He’s always courteous and prompt and makes sure you understand everything.

I was referred to Dr. Velanovich via specialist at USF to treat chronic illness. The surgery was more successful in the treatment of gastric motility than I could have hoped.

Very pleased with the patience and kindness with which Dr. Velanovich explained my surgical option, even drawing pictures to be sure I understood. He did not seem to be hurried as so many doctors are.

He performed my husband’s surgery and then had to do emergency surgery on him. He was never there when needed he gave up on my husband instead of being encouraging. He depended on residence and interns to take care of my husband until his death, he wasn’t even around when my husband died. When I saw him a few months later at a walk he told me what he should have done which was not very comforting.

Dr. Velanovich did my surgery at Henry Ford Detroit and I would recommend him highly. He is an outstanding, caring doctor who goes above and beyond for his patients. I had been to several doctors and they could not figure out my issue but Dr. Velanovich did some testing and performed my life saving surgery. Sorry to see him leave Henry Ford. Dr. Velanovich changed my life!!! He fixed an error that a previous surgeon made and also performed a fundoplication which stopped the severe acid reflux and vomiting that I had been having for 2 years.
