I was referred to Dr. Velanovich via specialist at USF to treat chronic illness. The surgery was more successful in the treatment of gastric motility than I could have hoped.

Very pleased with the patience and kindness with which Dr. Velanovich explained my surgical option, even drawing pictures to be sure I understood. He did not seem to be hurried as so many doctors are.

We had an experience we wish we could have with every Doctor ! He was punctual, extremely knowledgeable in his field, explained the surgery in terms we understood. We were not rushed, and we truly sensed that he has a passion for his area of expertise.

Dr. V. performed the ivor-lewis esophagectomy on the love of my life at Tampa General Hospital. Not only was the surgery a great success, but his follow up and his staff was exceptional. He answered all questions promptly. Highly recommend him. Feeling blessed.

He performed my husband’s surgery and then had to do emergency surgery on him. He was never there when needed he gave up on my husband instead of being encouraging. He depended on residence and interns to take care of my husband until his death, he wasn’t even around when my husband died. When I saw him a few months later at a walk he told me what he should have done which was not very comforting.

Dr. Velanovich is an outstanding physician. He was very attentive towards myself and my remarkable Husband, Bennie. Dr. Velanovich performed a successful Whipple Procedure on My husband. He was always available for any questions before, during and after the surgery. His staff were exceptional and professional as well. I would recommend Dr. Velanovich to ANYONE! Dr. Velanovich did my surgery at Henry Ford Detroit and I would recommend him highly. He is an outstanding, caring doctor who goes above and beyond for his patients. I had been to several doctors and they could not figure out my issue but Dr. Velanovich did some testing and performed my life saving surgery. Sorry to see him leave Henry Ford. Tampa FL is very lucky to get him!

Dr. Velanovich changed my life!!! He fixed an error that a previous surgeon made and also performed a fundoplication which stopped the severe acid reflux and vomiting that I had been having for 2 years.
