Dr. Vicente Alonso Mejia, MD

Dr. Mejia and his staff are trash and show zero compassion whatsoever to their patients post surgery. I would give him zero stars if I could. This is coming from a fellow healthcare professional working in the same hospital. He has horrific bedside manor, does not take accountability for ruining my arm and denying treatment needed in order to show what he damaged in my arm. He likes to give excuses saying he doesn’t know why I’m in pain and no one else he operated on had these issues including entire families that were operated on by him. That’s not a good enough answer and doesn’t solve my PAIN. You NEVER tell a patient that you don’t know when working in healthcare especially when he is the one that damaged my medial nerve. A neurologist and hand surgeon have both stated that he damaged my arm. The entire staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional including his “nurse” Amanda. I have underwent a second surgery to try and repair the damage that he did to my arm. I underwent nerve… blocks recently and am in pain management for the mistakes he made. I am now headed to Vanderbilt. Do yourself a favor and go to Vanderbilt for Hidradenitis. He is not a hidradenitis specialist in Chattanooga. I have filed a complaint with insurance and I am not stopping there. University Sugical physicians and their disgusting, inept and rude staff will never touch me again.

Destroyed my dads life after laproscopuc surgery. Ruptured his spleen and nearly lost his life. Ended up with nothing. Lost his career and he doesn't feel responsible. What a joke. I wouldn't let him touch an animal.

Dr. Mejia was personable, professional, knowledgeable, and took the time and care to answer all my (and my wife’s) questions completely. He did a through follow-up before releasing me. I had excellent results after a challenging surgery.

Without Dr. Mejia I don't know what I would do. Surgeon after surgeon gave up on me or refused to treat me saying nothing could be done. The Dr. Mejia walked in The room and said I can help. I was skeptical because he was so confident it didn't seem real. He did a few operations on me and my quality of life was the best I have seen in over 20 years and my health improved drastically. If you want a doctor that cares about you, respects you and treats you like family then this is the surgeon for you. Eternally grateful for everything he did for me.

Dr Mejia is the BEST SURGEON I have ever seen. I've seen many surgeons over the years and he is the BEST EVER!
