Dr. Victor Fehrenbacher, MD

Norton Louisville Arm & Hand - both the doctors we saw and the office manager (Randi) we reached out to for help were unprofessional and lack compassion and respect for patients. My 14yo son was mistreated and scared to death because of the doctor’s actions. Dr. Fehrenbacher walked in and performed a procedure without obtaining informed consent - he did not discuss it with us (parents) or my son before he did it. No discussion of the procedure, the potential risks, or what my child could expect to feel or experience. It happened so quickly, we were stunned. My child terrified. Then the doctor was downright nasty when I told him that what he just did was not okay. Horrible bedside manner, bad attitude, sarcastic remarks, substandard patient care, and an ego too big for compassion. We refused to move forward with him as the surgeon that day. His behavior was that obnoxious! No way he was going to be left alone with my son after that. No way. Dr. Robinson stepped in, but then to our… dismay he was clearly aggravated that my son now wanted general anesthesia instead of just a local. He literally tried to coerce and talk him out of it AFTER Dr. Fehrenbacher had already scared my son to the point he was in tears and wanted to go home. It was SO unprofessional and lacked any compassion for my son. Dr. Robinson’s aggravation was obvious and made us uncomfortable. After he walked away - the anesthesiologist, who heard it all - tried to comfort and reassure us that it was more than reasonable for a 14yo patient to get anesthesia for the procedure he was having done. The whole experience including follow-up has been nothing but substandard. There are more details space and time doesn’t allow for, but in summary - this is the WORST practice I have ever dealt with in my life. Avoid at all cost. My son’s finger that was operated on currently looks infected - 9 doctors in that office and NOT one could see him until next week. Substandard patient care, unprofessional staff, lack of concern and compassion for patients. None of which is okay. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Fehrenbacher operated on my husbands left arm after a complex injury. He had an excellent bedside manor. Most importantly, he took great care of him during his surgery and post operative follow up. He is recovering well and is now back at work. The staff at Nortons said Dr. Fehrenbacher was the best and I now believe them! I would highly recommend him for arm and hand issues!

I was experiencing major complications 8 months after a car accident where I almost died. 3 ribs had been plated and a MRSA infection was corroding my bones inside my chest wall unbeknownst to anyone including myself. I was in a great deal of pain. My orthopedic surgeon referred me to his colleague since he was moving on to a different practice. I was referred for physical therapy. Mr. Fehrenbacher, who is a RESMD, tried to take x-rays of my left side where my clavicle was broken, treating the visit as if it was a routine follow-up. He along with others in the team were trying to take x-rays of my left side when my issue was completely different and was far from the conditions of which I originally started. I tried to get clarification of why x-rays were being taken of my left side when I was there for physical therapy for the issues for which I had been referred. Mr. Fehrenbacher was extremely dismissive of my plight after having relayed to him the details of my two-week hospital… stay to remove hardware and debride bone and muscle of infection. Not only did he lack compassion when I relayed to him what had occurred but he told me that I should not interrupt him when he was clearly interrupting me when I was trying to tell him why this was not a routine follow-up visit. Furthermore, when finally getting it across to him that I was there for a physical therapy appointment, he cited cost as a reason I don't need it, although I have now been in the hospital two additional times after that visit and treated for osteomyelitis. I've never met anyone with more disregard for a patient's health.
