Dr. Victor Li, MD

Dr. Li, has an intriguing strategy for patient care. I call it the assembly line approach. I waited an hour to see him on my first visit, while filling out seemingly endless sheets of paper with repetitive questions, which was presumably intended to make the long wait appear productive. To my surprise, I discovered that the gentleman waiting, next to me was scheduled 15 minutes after me. No problem for Dr. Li; he managed to finish everything he needed to know in 15 minutes, without even glancing at the paperwork I completed. He was delayed by5 minutes when I had the temerity to ask him to review my MRI, something he obviously did not consider necessary. His conclusion was to meet him at a different location where he could perform his magic with injections to neutralize the back pain I consulted him for. At the injection appointment, after waiting an hour in a cold room on a gurney, the good doctor showed up and put four needles in my back, after asking me again where my pain was. That… required a total of five minutes and cost my insurance $8,000. I was advised to schedule an appointment two weeks later to judge the effectiveness of the procedure. At my follow-up appointment, I was only able to see Dr. Li's assistant for 10 minutes. Since the injections had provided no pain relief, I considered requesting pain medication a good idea, a thought that never entered Dr. Li's busy mind or that of his assistant. I was given a prescription for Gabapentin 300 mg, one pill per day. After advising the assistant of the ineffectiveness of the injections, I was told to make myself available for another injection.  The second injection was as ineffective as the first. Two weeks later, seeing Dr. Li's assistant again and informing her that the pain medication she prescribed was as effective as one aspirin--and the injections not at all--she prescribed Meloxicam 7.5 mg and recommended scheduling yet another appointment. By that time, I had had enough of Dr. Li, and his employee. I'm 77years old and, not surprisingly, have seen many doctors during that time. Dr. Li is in a league of his own as someone who is clearly interested only in maximizing income without the slightest care for the patient. Gennaro de Caro

I have being waittingfor a call back for 3 weeks just to make an appoitment for an injections and no luck at all. I think I need to go somewere else. I went there and the front desk was extremelly rude.

I was having lower back pain To the point where I couldn’t walk more than 10’ without feeling an ice pick in my back. I saw a different local pain doc first... one who did NOTHING for me. I called Dr. Li’s office and got an appointment in 2 weeks. At the appointment, Dr. Li explained my options and scheduled me for an injection in 2 weeks. The injection worked pretty well and I can walk again, though I won’t be hiking mountains any time soon. I’ve read the other reviews and while Dr. Li may seem arrogant, what he did for me worked. I found him to be a pretty interesting character, though he is a bit aloof... but then I don’t need him to be my new besty, ya know? I just needed for him to help me to be out of pain and he did that.

Dr. Li is arrogant and totally uncaring. He spent FIVE minutes with me and NEVER examined me. I don’t know how he maintains a license. He prescribed injections without even reading the reports I brought in. It feels like he’s strictly in it for the money. Don’t waste your money!

Dr Li sees you on your first initial visit and before procedure and not seen again until following procedure. Given appointments only to be seen by physician assistants. Office staff and scheduling staff incompetent of giving accurate information. Physicians Assistant Audrey is exceptional in helping. I was suppose to be scheduled for the Salinas Office and went to the appointment to find out it was scheduled in Capitola, and I live in Salinas. I had my disc rupture at work and tried to get an appointment immediatly and was told that I needed to wait until an appointment was available. Got in to see him seven days later. I was seen by Audrey and she made she that when I left the office that I was comfortable, I could barely walk in the office. Had laser and received relief about two days later. Going to have nerves in lower lumbar cauterized in about two weeks, hoping for relief. Workers Compensation requires I be seen by him, not really my choice, but hopeful of good results

After I was injured at work, requiring a very debilitating spine surgery, Workers Comp. referred me to Dr. Li. I found him to be kind, caring, cincerned for my well-being, and incredibly competent. I left his practice ONLY because his senior partner, Dr. Howard Rosen, decided to take over my case from Dr. Li. Since I found Dr. Rosen to be the most obnoxious jerk in the history of the medical profession, I left both him and Dr. Li in my rearview mirror! Now that Dr. Li has his own practice, separate from Dr. (...and I use the term very loosely) Rosen, I anxiously await my return to Dr. Li's extremely competent medical care. I recommend Dr. Li very highly!

He is arrogant and dismissive. He would be a better mechanic than doctor.

I came to Dr. Li with a history of severe chronic pain for 8+ years. His medical advice was to seek acupuncture. I'd recommend to anyone to seek help elsewhere.

I had back injections and was relieved from pain in lower back. Staff is efficient and friendly. Office is clean, nice lobby with soft lighting.

Dr. Li is quick and crisp. No bedside manner. But very efficient - he is like a machine - very good at what he does... His staff of doctors and nurses are all very kind and have that caring manner. He is the guy who does the procedures. But as he does the procedures, he is very good at keeping me distracted from the epidural injections. There is always a lot of staff - and I feel very taken care of. I have been pretty beat up with injuries - so I have been to the surgery center a half dozen times. I have had amazing results though. I was in severe pain and on pain killers - I woke up every day with pain - and somewhat disabled for several years from injuries to my body. When he met me, he diagnosed me in five minutes - I was so tired and in pain taking Advil and Tylenol all day (took Vicodin for two years I hurt so bad) He said that was no way to live and he was going to help. He has - doing everything to help me feel better - I had nerve ablation in my neck, and… steroid shot in my SI joint. I had severe neck pain and migraines before - and I could barely walk. The pain still lingers but it is so much less and bearable - AND they keep working on me. Injuries are the worst! This office got me back on my feet and my life path and feeling healthy again. I am able to do yoga again - and I am going back to school to continue my career I thought I had to give up because of the pain of my injuries... I wish the procedures were permanent - but its just the beginning and it will get better and better. I am so HAPPY to be out of pain. Its a complete miracle I feel as good as I do.
