Dr. Victor Herman Lipp, MD

Lipp is not current and follows a "prescribe first" approach to medicine. Lots of broad-spectrum antibiotics in a short period of time with no deeper discussion of root-cause.

Stay away from this doctor like the plague. He missed every diagnosis on my child. When we brought stuff up, he made us feel like parents who made up illnesses for our child. Our son was in the hospital approximately every three weeks for breathing treatments. On of of these occasions he ended up in icu and was put on a respirator. Dr. Lipp did not visit him nor call for an update. He never diagnosed asthma and refused to put him on asthma meds. He also refused to diagnos Sandifur Syndrome. When my son was wildly wipping his head around, Dr Lipp said he was just exploring. We finally swtched to Scripps and it could not have been a bigger change. The actually listen and care. My son was properly diagnosed on the first visit and sent to the prper specialists. My son was gravely ill so many times because Dr. Lipp did not listen. I highly advice avoiding this doctor.

My two girls have been going to Dr. Lipp for ten years. He sets the standard as a childen's physician by spending the time to understand, diagnose and educate his patients while building a good rapport with the child and parent. Typically you have to wait additional time in the office but that is because he takes time and doesn't rush with each of his patients.

Dr.Lipp has been my daughter's pediatrician since she was 3 years old. She is now 11. Dr.Lipp is a very patient and caring person who makes sure all of my questions are answered. He also has a wonderful sense of humor which makes my daughter look forward to her annual visit.I have yet to find a nicer and more experienced pediatrician in San Diego.
