Although Dr. Chen introduced herself with a nice, soft-spoken manner, it was quickly evident that she wasn't invested in understanding my medical history, hearing my own concerns, or becoming familiar with my team of specialists before she made recommendations based on her experience at County General. Her follow-up communications contradicted her earlier advice and ignored my prior input. Perhaps I didn't see her people skills at their best, but in my situation, her coercive approach disrespected my integrity and destroyed any hope that she'd work with me in a spirit of partnership. I consider ease of appointments, promptness, length of visit, later follow-up, etc, much less important than a doctor's kind, caring attitude, her depth of diagnostic skill and experience, and her ability to connect with her patients.
