Always straight forward

I just moved to Ridgecrest and am in need of a Pediatrician. Through my insurance Dr Victoria Schaul is the only Pediatrician they cover. I had my doubts with all the other reviews I had read about her but decided to give a try. First off, trying to find the correct number to call is rediculous! I called 7 numbers. First one went to a call center. Second one was disconnected. Third was for a different medical facility. Fourth was for the same call center but a different number. Fifth number wouldn't even ring. The sixth number I thought I finally had the right one. She answered with a "Hello. So I was confused and asked if this was Dr Victoria Schauf's office? She said "Yes" so I continued with my name and that I would like to set up an appointment for my child. She replied with " this is not the appointment number. It is 760 446 1300". I wss about to say that I was so sorry and that it was hard trying to find the right number but before I could I could finish the… word "sorry" she had HUNG UP!! I was taken back and still needed an appointment so I called the number I was given. (Thankfully I had paper and a pen to write it down) the seven call... the office lady answered with the normal Dr office greeting. Again I asked if it was the correct office just in case and I was told yes. So again I tried to set up an appointment for my child and she said "I'm really busy right now and don't have my appointment book with me call back later or tomorrow." AND HUNG UP!!! Seriously!? What poor customer service!! There could have been a "sorry" muttered, or "let me take down your information so that I can call you back when I have my appointment book". But no. I have now found Dr an hour and a half away to take my child to. I will not go to a Dr who doesn't treat her customers on the phone with respect. If I'm treated like that on the phone i would NOT want to know how she treats children. Simply horrible treatment!

She gave vaccines to our small children. Now, we need proof of vaccines for school admittance. Dr. Vicki is nowhere to be found, and all medical records are gone. Our children must have vaccines all over again. NOT FAIR. This is unethical. she disappeared off the face of the earth, and so did all our children's medical records.

She is supposed to be a specialist in Parasites. She did not listen, she disregarded other lab tests another doctor ordered concerning this, she disregarded parasites that came from my body that I brought in and said they were not parasites. To me she did not exemplify in any way a parasite specialist. I don't know how much she has kept up on her education and skills as a parasite specialist? I will never go back and do not recommend anyone to see her that is dealing with this. Search elsewhere if you want true help with this condition. I found her very incompetent.

Was a top notch Dr., really slipping now, but the town really has limited options, staff is completely un professional, try to stick you with NP at Dr. rates of billing

Home-like environment, consistent staff, will work with you. Our two boys presented her with a couple of unusual conditions. While she wasn't the ultimate diagnoser her perseverance, the tests she had done, her referrals, her follow-up, and her continual involvement through treatment by specialists were extremely professional and comforting to concerned parents Even though the boys are grown and doing well and are no longer patients, we remember her warmly; she has even helped influence one of our boys to consider medicine as a career.

My children have be with Dr. Vickie for a really long time.. I cant ever see taking them to another doctor. Dr Vickie take such great care of them and I would let any of my friends know to take there kids to her... if you want a great dr.

Dr. Schauf has been our familys Pediatrician over 8 years. We chose her because we found her to be extremely knowledgeable, caring, and conscientious. She has always been very thorough in addressing our questions and concerns, and I never have trouble getting in to see her when I need to. My children adore her and I am extremely grateful to have found a pediatrician that I can trust with something as precious as my childrens health! We highly recommend Dr. Schauf to any family!

We have a limited amount of dr's in ridgecrest if what 3 people have to say is the an opinion. I have been bring my children to this doctor for a long time, she is not judgemental about what kind of insurance you have, I have had both private insurance and medi-cal and I was not treated any different with either of them... You either like the doctor or you dont but is sad that you feel the need to put a doctor down just because "YOU" didnt like her.. I hope you feel better about your self for trying to make someone else look bad.. I would tell my friends to take there kids to dr Vickie because she cares about children why else would she be a pediatrican... As for grumpy think about the days you have a bad day and you are grumpy... doctors are people too...

The wait was very long. While listening to all the nurses tell eachother their whole life story. The dr was very rude and seemed annoyed by children. I would never take a child there!
