Dr. Victoria Kate Shanmugam, MD

My wife was here patient until a month ago. My wife have severe rheumatoid arthritis and needed a refill on her medication but Dr. Shanmugan refused to give my wife an prescription for her medication until my wife scheduled an doctors appointment. My wife had an appointment but couldn’t make it due to her new job and been trying to reschedule her appointment for over a month. Finally my wife got in touch with Dr. Shanmugan’s nurse and she informed my wife that Dr. Shanmugan does not play when a patient miss their appointment and was only willing to meet with my wife until two months. As a rheumatology doctor, you should never treat any patient with an chronic and very painful disease this way.

Met with Dr Shanmugam for the first time today. She was prompt and pleasant. I really like that she listened to me and talk with me with direct eye contact. That made me feel she cared about me and my concerns. She was very good about explaining any question that I had. Did not try to brush me off. I am usually very skeptical of doctors but she made me feel comfortable about moving forward with my procedure. She also ordered many lab work ups to get an idea what could be the underlining cause of my problem.

She listens well to the patient. After meeting with her, I leave with the feeling that she really cares about my concerns
