Dr. Victoria Skelton Yunker, MD

She is a hortible person. Ive never met a doctor with such an attitude as her. She is rude and dismissive. She will not let you speak. She will tell you flat out that she does not care. Never ever been talked to or treated so Disrespectful in my entire life.

I saw Dr. Yunker for probably a year. I liked her at first because she was empathetic and seemed determined to help me. However, she put me on a ton of meds and switched them up without titration if they didn’t work immediately. I told her I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety and that I was dealing with a lot of moodiness. Somehow, she decided that meant I had rapid mood cycling, kind of a cousin of bipolar, (even though I’ve never experienced mania or hypomania) and she prescribed me mood stabilizers and antipsychotics. The antipsychotics were supposedly for sleep and she acted like that was a normal off-label use, but I’ve learned from other clinicians that it is not. The drugs she gave me did not relieve my depression and completely eliminated my good moods. One of the drugs, Seroquel, caused a lot of weight gain, which is a common side effect she didn’t warn me about. I became more depressed and addicted to Ativan when I was seeing her, probably because I was so miserable.… Then she tried to cut me off the Ativan and got very hostile about it. On the last appointment, long after I had refused mood stabilizers, she tried to put me on Lithium, with her only reasoning being, “You’re moody!” Wow. That was my wake up call. I stopped seeing her immediately. I was on like 7 medications when I stopped seeing her and was in a depressive episode that had lasted over 6 months. Now (like a year later), I’m down to three medications and almost done weaning off benzos, and my depression is manageable again. She should have her license revoked, in my opinion. I wish I had read her reviews before I saw her. She gaslighted me so much that it took me a while to write this review.

She was borderline incompetent. Pay almost no attention to what i was trying to tell her and probably wasn't even sure who I was (among any of her patients) when we did have an appointment. Most of her comments were, "well then I dont know." She never explained anything, and was quick to cut me off. She also blatantly lied to me about knowing I had attempted to contact her in regards to side-effects. The office read me her response. I would give zero stars if that option was available.

Dismissive, condescending and curt. She switched my bipolar meds on the first appointment. Completely irresponsible; disregarding my established titration, which has been working wonders. I will NOT be returning for my second appointment. I am very disappointed.

Dr. Yunker is very sweet, but she pushes you to get on lots of drugs, that only made everything much worse. Then she prescribes more drugs to help with the symptoms. She just wants to give you as many prescriptions as possible without worrying about the consequences of the trusting patient. Very dangerous and long suffering experience.

I read reviews before I went and I thought I'd still give her a shot, but do yourself a favor and see someone else. I really wish I could put zero stars for this woman. I went to see her for an assessment and her tone was so accusatory and judgmental right off the bat. She accused me of not being "normal" because I talk fast and have OCD tendencies. She told me that taking medication was the only way I would get over any of that and that therapy would not help me in any way. Her tone of voice when asking you questions was unprofessional and rude. She started yelling at me and that's when i decided it was best if I left. I would never recommend her to anyone I know. I am so surprised she is a doctor. It seems like she needs a psychiatrist herself.

you can never ever get this woman to make an appt. you can not get medication filled and I would strongly recommend never going to her.

I have been a patient since 2008 and have "survived" at least four different people at the desk. I have encountered everything from a five hour wait to the lady, and I use that word lightly...who actually tore up the faxed in prescription request!! Dr. Yunker is very nice, however, from the beginning my Husband said run as fast as you can. It's not that easy to start over with a Doctor. I can not tell you how many times I have ran out of medicine and had to drive over there and just wait to get anything done. I am currently out of medicine for my anxiety..(Xanax) and it is VERY difficult to function. I often wonder how many "extra" years of stress, panic attacks etc. I have caused myself because I continue to accept this. I like her but I wonder if she is doing me more harm than good?? I'm trying to deal with cold turkey syndrome.....sweating, nausea, dizzy, twitching, it's awful...if I can survive this, I guess I'm stronger than I think and should just stay off this medicine??

If you can get an appointment and she is actually there consider yourself lucky! This doc is never there for appointments she schedules! People are going without meds due to her unprofessionality. Good doctor if you ever actually see her. She seems to come in the office when it's dark only. I have considered filing a quality of care complaint with CMS. Appointment was today and guess what? Her office is locked and she is nowhere around.

You always have to wait 2 hours or more.Very unprofessional!!!
