Dr. Vigel Matthew Varkey, MD

I just contacted Dr Varkey's office to make a 'new patient' appointment & the young lady that answered the phone was so rude it makes me question my decision to select Dr Varkey as my PCP; I feel like I'm going from the frying pan into the fire I just decided to change my PCP because of that type of attitude.. Hope Dr Varkey is better than his staff which are the face of his practice..

I've had some horrible experiences with medical professionals since my accident. Dr. Varkey was a wonderful exception. He listened without judgement. He helped where he could. He offered options, but let me make my own decisions. He didn't push me to get tests I didn't need. I now live far away, which is the only reason he isn't still my PCP. I highly recommend him!

I am so thrilled to have found Dr. Varkey. I was looking for a new Primary Care Physician in my area (Tampa – Westchase) and found Dr. Varkey’s practice online. I made an appointment and went to see Dr. Varkey to establish myself as a new patient and for a physical examination. Much to my surprise, Dr. Varkey took the time to discuss my medical history with me and to actually listen to everything I had to say (unlike other Primary Care Physicians I have seen over the years). His demeanor was extremely pleasant and it was immediately obvious that Dr. Varkey cares a great deal for his patients. During my inital appoinement with Dr. Varkey, I learned that in a few months Dr. Varkey would be joining the veriMED group and that his office location would be moving from the Tampa-Westachase area to New Port Richey. However, when you discover a physician like Dr. Varkey, traveling the additional 12 miles (30 minutes) from Tampa to New Port Richey is definitely worth the extra effort! I… recently had the occasion to see Dr. Varkey again... this time, as a patient of his new veriMED practice in New Port Richey. Dr. Varkey’s new office is very clean and spacious, he has an attentive, conscientious staff, and as with my initial appointment in Tampa, Dr. Varkey provided me with more than enough of his time to address all of my questions and concerns. I was once again overly impressed with the overall experience. … from the time in the waiting room, to how I was treated at check-out. If you live in the area of New Port Richey (or if within driving distance of Dr. Varkey’s new office), I would highly recommend that you check into Dr. Varkey’s practice. I’m certain you’ll be happy you did!

Absolutely love Dr. Varkey. He is very knowledgeable and thorough and takes as much time as you need to ensure that your medical needs are being met. His staff is great too! I would recommend him to everyone!!

I WAS SEEN IN DR. VARKEYS OFFICE RECENTLY AND REQUESTED TO BE SENT TO A CERTAIN PAIN CENTER. I WAS NOT ALOUD TO BE SEEN THERE AND THOUGHT THIS WAS BECAUSE HE HAD TIES TO ANOTHER DOCTOR AND WANTED ME TO GO THERE INSTEAD. THIS IS THE KIND OF PRACTICING THAT IS STARTING TO GIVE DOCTORS A BAD NAME. MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE.

moving here from Boston, I wanted to find a doctor that accepted my insurance. I found Dr.Varkey and was so pleased with the way I was greeted and treated. Dr. Varchey was wonderful and caring. He answered all my questions and then some!! His manner was kind and gentle. I am so glad I found him. his office staff was great.

Very good Doctor took his time with me and explained in detail my treatment.
