I didn’t see laser I would rate him a five star because from the beginning to after everything was perfect you could see the difference really good and I would just recommend this doctor as your family practice doctor five star

If someone leaves a good review for this doctor and his office works they are lying. Let’s start with the fact that the front desk people have no idea as to what paper work they are having you sign when you first go or the fact that when your Authorization gets approved and they get it they don’t call you AT ALL and when you call and ask they give you attitude. The doctor himself if you pay attention that’s a lot without actually saying anything and whatever problem is mentioned to him is nothing even though you are worried about it. Back to the people in the front I asked what I was signing when I first started going the lady said “Haha I have no idea what that is honestly if you want don’t sign it” fast forward my authorization came in and I really needed this appointment it came in on a Tuesday I called the insurance myself a week after that not knowing they got it approved at the office and the insurance tells me it’s been approved for a week and half I called the office and… mentioned it was approved and some lady decide to throw a fit at me as if I said something wrong about how she should have called me her response I’m a person I forget things and this is the 4th time this happen.

Dr Vigen Abovian and his staff are outstanding. They provide a professional and excellent care. This office is very clean. Dr Abovian always takes a lot of time during the appointments and helps me with my concerns. such an amazing doctor. I will highly recommend.

I visited the doctor one time. When I said my symptoms he immediately told me what was wrong without any analysis. He recommended for me to take two different steroids for muscle pain and, when I asked questions about them, he said "you don't want to take medicine? you can go to physical therapy." I said I would take the medicine if it would help but I wanted to know what my options were. He said I had to choose between the anti-inflammatory steroids or go to a physical therapy. I asked if I could have time deciding and he rolled his eyes and said I had to pick right now. He said that there was no other options he could give me because of what insurance I had. I asked if there was anything else I could do and he recommended some exercises. I asked what they were and he said, verbatim: "just search for it on google images." While sitting there I pulled my phone out and looked up the exercises on google and he said "yeah that's what you want to do." He told me he would send… me a recommendation for a PT to go to and I never received that, all I got was paperwork for the prescription from his staff. When I asked the pharmacy about the prescription they did not even have it - he never submitted it to them. While the staff was friendly, they actually charged me 3% on top of the cost of the visit. It was either pay cash or pay the additional fee to use the credit card system. It's not that it was a lot more to pay but it seemed very unprofessional. Overall this was a very bad experience. I found a new doctor and showed him the recommended drugs. He said that they may work but suggested the physical therapy route and said that the drugs prescribed were too much to be an initial decision.

i am very satisfied with the servises from the doctor and staff, enviroment is very friendly. Doctor is very professional and knowlegible, staff is good trained. Premises are clean. i highly recommend this doctor to everybody.

I have been visiting Dr. Abovian for 3 years now. He has always spent time to discuss my concerns and options. Whether it is diet, nutrition, medical treatments or anything for that matter, he discusses them in a professional manner. In my opinion he is a fine doctor and I would recommend. His staff went out of their way and arrived early to draw my blood for tests. For a doctor, I cant ask for more. Best of luck.

This physician is quite frankly the absolute worst that I have ever dealt with! I could not see my regular primary care physician at the AltaMed El Monte facility, so I had to see him. This was an important visit as I was to get the results of a recently performed mammogram. As he came in, he carelessly/heartlessly stated that, "This is bad! This is bad! Bad news. Bad, bad!!" I was already anxious about the results of this test (I had for awhile suspected there might be something wrong with one of my breasts) and was of course apprehensive going in. This was our introduction. He also carelessly spoke like this in front of my 12-year old daughter. This got her worried! She did not need my condition to be a burden to her! I also had other issues I was going in for. Since he was again not my regular doctor, I tried to fill him in on my condition. He constantly interrupted me while trying to do so! He had his own opinions forming them without knowing my history. He seemed… to dispute the professional opinions of other doctors (including my regular physician as well as an orthopedic surgeon who had performed arthroscopic surgery on my knee)! All the while interrupting me as I was trying to "clarify" what he should know about me and my condition (apparently we as patients are given 15 minutes!- Yes- he let that slip!). I wanted him to know exactly what I needed then. I felt that as a patient with a real need of another visit to the orthopedic surgeon because of chronic pain in my knee, he could have been a much better listener in determining my needs. He did most of the talking, dominating the conversation. How can you effectively treat your patients if you do not listen to them? Not only that, when trying to explain how I had previously sustained my injury and the pain I have been experiencing ever since, he stated (more so interrupted) that "he didn't want to know!" For the record, my daughter and I had been struck by a car while in a marked crosswalk as pedestrians in May of 2005. My left tibia and fibia and knee cap were shattered. I have been suffering from arthritis since then. So how did my visit end up? I'll tell you...Dr. Abovian felt he could not grant me a return trip to the orthopedic surgeon (did take 3 or 4 x-rays of my knee, however) because he "did not know me" and gave me quick referral to see about having a biopsy for the misshapen growth found in my breast. Turns out the place he sent me to did not even handle this type of procedure! Not only that, his referral was to a place for a specific clinic specializing only in patients without insurance (God bless that clinic!), but I happen to have insurance. They would not have seen me in any case! Service ranking for Dr. Abovian? Need I say more?? ABSOLUTELY LOUSY!!! Also, this review makes you check off a box, you cannot leave it blank; I would give him a ZERO had the formatting let me! Anyone unfortunate enough to get him as a doctor will undoubtedly experience precisely what I have mentioned above...Good luck!!
