Dr. Vijayalakshmi Arekapudi, MD

To start, i had to call to confirm my own appointment because they didn’t give me any sort of confirmation email at any point . Fine I guess, but then i got two different voicemails in response telling me my appointment was at 5 and another saying 5:30. i called and confirmed it was 5, so that’s when i showed up. I was not taken back until 5:45. I expressed my frustration and the receptionist, in all seriousness, said “what do you want me to do?” I finally make it back to the dr who then had the audacity to say to me condescendingly “does the doctor always immediately treat you upon arrival.” i said surely no but there’s quite a bit of difference between that and 45 minutes. all the while her hand is on my breast giving an examination!! it was so unprofessional and made me feel untrustworthy of the medical treatment itself. We finish the appointment which was otherwise fine until i walked back to the front desk to pay. First, it took 10 minutes for her to figure out how to use the… printer to print my receipt. she then hands it to me and the name of another patient was attached, not my name. Acknowledgment of payment had been attached with that patient and not me. had i not caught the error it would have shown I had an outstanding balance on my account that i had actually paid. While we’re figuring this out both dr and receptionist are essentially yelling at me for requesting a receipt with my actual name on it. instead of being able to produce an accurate receipt, they scratched out the name of the patient and penned in my name. Luckily i just went for a check up to refill Rx, and won’t need to find a new obgyn for another year when the Rx expires again, but if you are pregnant or have serious medical concerns…consider yourself warned.

Office is disorganized, front desk staff is rude. I brought up some concerns and was told to book a follow up appointment. When I showed up they had no idea why I was there.

Dr. Arekapudi took her time in answering all of my questions and was a great listener. She helped me become more comfortable and well taken care of.

Dr. Arekapudi, looks like she is more interested to c-section, I know about 6 people went to her every one c-section.there are some cases where first delivery is normal and second delivery this Dr did c-section.i don't think she has skills to do normal delivery. Looks like she is still following Indian treat ment procedures and she is feeling c-section is easier and no need to wait for labor.worst ever gynoGynacolo I have seen in my entire life.i don't recommend this dr.in fact gynocolgy department need to re visit her certification and ability of service, looks like she don't have ability to deal with pregnancy.

Please don't go to this doctor. Even if because of your insurance try another dr. Vijaya n this both work together in same clinic and if you took appointment of this dr her mother Vijaya will check you. Who's horrible lady, only they care about is money the copayment. She knows my blighted ovum at 6 weeks but hide from us. And suddenly on week 8 convinced us to do D&C told us bleeding will too much. But if she told me before there is chance we can use tablet. Also she's too rude. And swati told me to walk 10 miles which I don't follow as all know 20 minutes walk is more in first tri. Even I told her about my fatigue and increased heartbeats she was like okay. Even they never did hcg progesterone test. When I am going through bad stomach pain she tol me I am not available go to emergency room. On that day at 1 pm!! I mean common!! Don't go to Vijaya n swati. Don't trust others positive reviews some where on internet. There are many good doctors in Chicago go to them .

For 16 years I've been going to her. Delivered all 3 of my girls. Great!

Dr Arekapudi's daughter was my ob/gyn adn I would recommend her to anyone. Her bedside manner is stellar and so comforting! She's completely thorough and determined to help you find a cause of any problem.

All she cares of insurance and co-pay. dont listen to you. very horrible experience.....

My experience has been very positive. The physician spent time with me, answered any questions I had. She knew my case, did surgery and excellent follow up.
