Dr. Vinay Chopra, MD

Dr. Vinay Chopra is a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine physician and board certified Family Medicine physician who specializes in non-surgical orthopaedics, concussion management, sports performance and rehabilitation. He treats a range of conditions including fractures, sprains, concussions, arthritis and other disorders of the joints as well as sports related injuries, performance, nutrition, and rehabilitation and exercise. He also has experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound and various therapy methods such as platelet rich plasma (PRP) and prolotherapy. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and fellowship trained in the specialty of Sports Medicine. He has experience with professional athletes and during his fellowship worked as a team physician for the New York Jets Football Team. He also has college-level experience working with University of Maryland - College Park football and basketball, and Rutgers University wrestling. He also served as team …physician for West Orange High School football and their state champion wrestling team, and Summit High School football. Currently, Dr. Chopra is the head team physician for Felician College and team physician for Jonathan Dayton High School Football Team. He is certified in Combat Medicine and appointed by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board as a ringside physician. He has covered numerous mixed martial arts events such as Bellator, Cage Fury Fighting Championships, Ring of Combat, and Dead Serious. Prior to joining Seaview Orthopaedics, Dr. Chopra earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, and medical degree with honors from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family and Community Medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore; and completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at Atlantic Health, Morristown Medical Center in affiliation with the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
