Dr. Vincent Paul Desantis, MD

This guy is nice. He is a little odd in session but most psychiatrists are. I complained about his answering personal clinical calls in session. He didnt answer calls in my following session. I cant imagine how much he is working right now. Hes seeing me on a sunday afternoon. Its generous of him. I have no idea if he is a good doctor but I appreciate that kindness.

Answers personal calls on his cell phone during billable patient hours. He works at a local hospital and also chooses to treat clients in his private practice during his hospital on-call hours. Odd choice on his part, but I imagine very profitable for him financially. His demeanor could best be described as similar to someone who is heavily sedated.

Zero empathy or compassion, takes calls during consult, does not listen or want to hear patient input. Over medicates, cold and disinterested. The opposite of a care giver.!

I am totally baffled by my experience with this "doctor." He plainly said talking through the issues I was having wouldn't resolve them, that I had a mental illness and needed drugs. After prescribing two heavy duty drugs, he said I could simply call if I wanted to make an appointment. I took this to mean that he didn't think the sessions were necessary anymore, and that he would fill my prescriptions. I was ambivalent about this. After letting my prescriptions lapse multiple times, weeks go by, and he calls back at 9:30 at night, and says the arrangement isn't working for him, and that I should find someone who is willing to just fill prescriptions and not see me. I told him I wasn't sure that's what I wanted to do and that I'd think about it. I later asked him for an appointment, saying that I'm not interested in just having someone fill my prescriptions, and he now refuses to respond. My prescriptions have lapsed, I can't fill them, and I am experiencing withdrawal. I hate to think… of what kind of harm this man has done to other patients. Do not go to see him.

This terrible man misdiagnosed and overmedicated many children he is despicable as he does not do homework or feel the need to deal with people as human beings he simply medicates and loves to give children "shut up" drugs...he is the cause of horrible things by his irresponsible behavior!!!!

Dr. Desantis has been very helpful to my family. He has provided marriage counseling and help to my son who has an anxiety disorder. He was very flexible about scheduling and generally a pleasure to deal with.

My daughter was drugged into a stupor by Dr DeSantis. He met every crisis with more medication. The medications prescribed altered her hormon levels and added 100 pounds to her 5’ 98 pound frame. He said she might get better when she was around 25 years old (she was 14 at the time). Having no experience with mental illness we stuck with him until he said she would never be able to go to college. Well - we moved away, got a new dr who was horrified at the medications she was on and changed everything. She lost 100 pounds is a second year college student and has an actual diagnosis now - something he never gave us. I will never forgive myself for throwing away 4 years of her life.

He should have his medical license stripped. Don't walk - RUN!

Dr. Desantis is truly one of the worst mental health professionals I have ever worked with. He was impossible to track down during my hospital stay for depression and didn't check in with me until the 5th day I was there. When he finally got around to seeing me, he diagnosed a condition after having spoken with me for only 5 minutes. Please do yourself a favor and seek mental healthcare elsewhere. My time with Dr. Desantis was traumatic, as his actions borderline medical malpractice.

Rather arrogant and cold in his attitude and approach. Stubbornly narrow in his outlook.
