Dr. Ving Yam, DO

Doctor won't see you in-person unless you're fully vaccinated. Today, I was on the phone with the office for 25 minutes, put on hold 6x (I counted), did an entire intake (meds, family history, etc), then at the very end of the conversation right before scheduling an appointment, I was asking about the vaccine and then was told I couldn't be seen by the doctor. I feel that's unethical, along with wasting my time. If you're interested in working with an unethical doc, go for it, but I wouldn't go to someone if I knew they were practicing like this.

I feel that Dr. Yam is very partial to is own ethnicity. His staff never knows what is going on with patients needs nor do they follow through or communicate among each other or with Ving. When I needed to go out on disability there were numerous mistakes on the forms with several weeks delay. Eventually I had to spoon feed him and do all the forms myself. All he had to due is review and sign and it still took weeks. He simply does not care!!!!. WHen talking to staff, they all reply is so busy. WELL so are most doctors and still put their patients first. You will not find that here. Extremely disorganized office as a whole. I now have a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Yam saved my life not once but twice!

I woke up one morning in a lot of pain and a lump in my groin and thought I might have a hernia. I saw Dr. Yam because my actual doctor at the office was on vacation (like usual). Dr. Yam was very short with me, only feeling where the lump was and telling me it was an inflamed lymph node then proceeded to reprimand me because the call center nurse decided to page him early in the morning because a hernia can be serious, then he told me "I have kids to take care of in the morning and cannot be bothered with non emergency calls". He then rushed me out of the room without explaining anything else to me. I had to research on my own that it was caused from an infection in my foot and I probably needed antibiotics. HE signed up to be a doctor, I PAY for his service and I SHOULD NOT be reprimanded for PAYING him to do HIS JOB. I told the office staff I was going to change to another office because of this experience. They didn't blame me. My lymph node is still inflamed.

Dr. Yam is very kind and caring. He takes a lot of time to explain everything and answer all my questions. He had to at one point send me to a specialist for an health issue but follows up with me every other month or so to make sure that I am doing what I should be doing and that I am getting taken care of. I would highly recommend him.
