Dr. Vipal Soni, MD

Spent 6 months plus trying to recover from the radiation therapy. Still in wound care after 3 months hyperbaric. Would have been better with Mohs tech surgery.

Years ago, I had a few office visits with Dr. Soni to remove a few moles. Very knowledgable as far as Dermatology goes however he needs to evaluate his office management/support staff. About 2 years later, I recently contacted Dr. Soni and the office management staff were super rude. As soon as I called, they put me on hold and transferred the call straight to the office manager. I've never had a welcome back like this, to the point where I scheduled an appointment elsewhere. Apparently, I didn't pay a former $20 co-pay (which I was not made aware of) and was willing to pay years later. I also had 1 no show (which I was willing to make up with rescheduling and paying a no show amount). Something always comes up with our lives, emergencies happen and they should take this into consideration. Since I did not pay the co-pay and I had 1 no show appointment, they treated me as a "nobody" along with refusing services to see me without a credit card on file. Even though I have good… insurance, Aetna PPO. I refused to give my credit card since I'm trying to avoid fraud issues. Overall, it was not a great experience and I will not be recommending Dr. Soni to my family, friends, clients, and colleagues. Instead, I went to Advanced Dermatology in Dana Point (close to home anyway).

My dermatologist retired and referred me to Dr. Soni. Dr. Soni is very thorough and friendly. However, I waited in the main lobby for 45 minutes before being called back to the exam room. Then, waited another 20 minutes in the exam room. I received a reminder call two days before my appointment that if I needed to cancel, to give at least 24 hour notice or I would be charged a $50 fee. I think they should credit $50 if your wait time is over 30 minutes.

I saw Dr. Soni. I have only good things to say about him. I am so far, very happy that I found him. He was very thorough and explained things well. I wish we had a little more time together, but to be fair, I have allot of issues. He addressed each one, gave me a game plan and so far, so really good. I think he just has a lot of patients cuz he is good. He just tries to get to everybody that is waiting on him. I did, after all, get called at my appointment time and waited in the office for maybe 10 minutes max. He spent about 25 minutes or more with me and went thru each concern. People that complain that they had to wait are out of touch. This is HB and I guess no one here can wait for anyone. The guy is a doctor. He doesn’t know what he is going to stumble on too. Look at me; I was a first time visit, but I had three visible issues, including cancerous lesions, about 9 of them. Then, I had a rash on my back that wouldn’t stop itching. Both solved in that 25 minute period. … Then, I discussed some cosmetic stuff on my face. I am a guy, but he seemed to have empathy and promised we would take care of the brown spots on my face that are just now developing. I have absolutely nothing bad to say and I do not know why anyone complains. It all seems to be about time, and I care enough about my skin on my face to give the guy some slack if he takes some time to get to me. I liked him. He is a good doctor, trust me. When I was 5 years old, some crazy doctor informed me they I may not live. I saw about 10 doctors after that until someone figured it out. Saw doctors for the next 8 years. I have seen so many doctors in my life, I know a good one, and Dr. Soni is one of them. Again, trust me. I am not steering you wrong. Thx, Dr. Soni.

Saw Dr. Soni today and let me first write that I have allot of experience with Dr's, since I was a little boy. I was extremely happy with my visit and this man knows what he is talking about and what he is doing. I picked him out of a list of names of Dermatologists "near me". I read a couple of negative comments, but simply went as I was very scared that I had skin cancer. Turns out it is pre-cancer and he said that I was there in plenty of time so that I don't have to worry. I cannot tell you how professional, personal and thorough this man is. He was so dialed in to my problems and just took care of one after the other and so competently. Also, very reasonable for cost. Yes, I am insured, but insurance doesn't cover anything cosmetic, yet Dr. Soni does not kick us when we are down. He actually discussed the costs moving forward and rarely does a Dr. do that. I don't even remember when I had a Dr. discuss the costs with me. Just great bedside manner and simply answered… all my questions with no issue. One thing he was unsure of, but it made sense and there simply are no studies of what I have a problem with, however he constructed a reasonable answer and I got it. I highly recommend this man and my guess is that if you are a female, you will be very happy with this guy cuz he gets it. He knows how important our skin and appearance is. Just so happy to have found this Dr., and he will be a long term relationship for me. I am so happy I found him and saw him so soon after I requested an appointment. They got me in on a Monday after I called on a Friday. He is difficult to get an appointment with, so that was very appreciated. Also, the staff are all very nice. I wish my Orthopod had a staff like this guy does. I would be so happy. They are nice and treat you with respect. Clearly, this Dr is in charge and he only hires people that are able to actually speak with professionalism when they address you. Also, my appointment was at 9:45 AM, and he waled thru the door at 9:48. Cannot beat that. He was on time which is difficult for Doc's as they don't know what they will see before its your turn. He spent sufficient time with me, yet he was aware of the time and probably was a couple minutes late for the next person, at the most. Just cannot say enough about this man, who is a good Doctor!!! A very good Dr.

He is the nicest Dr. And makes you feel comfortable.

The most knowledgeable Dermatologist in the O.C. He spends time with you, makes you really understand you situation and answers any questions you might have.

Dr Soni seems like a very good doctor. I've seen him twice and communication with him was easy and comfortable. He made a biopsy and I am waiting to hear what he discovered. The staff was congenial and helpful. So, I'm awaiting to hear his report. I feel he is trustworthy so that should be forthcoming.

Excellent Doctor. He spent a lot of time with me explaining available options, pros and cos, next steps etc. etc. He performed the procedure selected just as he explained and provided valuable information on what to expect etc. I was impressed with his desire to help a patient rather than watch his own schedule. He stayed well after his clinic's closing hours to complete the procedure I selected.

Dr. Soni is very personable and does not rush you in and out. The staff is courteous but the wait time can be long, even if you have an early appointment. My only concern is that I had some Moh's surgery sites redone by another doctor, as the skin cancer was still present(rather it was not totally removed the first time, or it came back I do not know), Also, the current physician has done a much better job of making the scars much less visible.
