Dr. Virginia L Chen, MD

I have had the good fortune to discover Dr. Virginia Chen more than 20 years ago. She is a more traditional, old-fashioned doctor in terms of her kindness, sensitivity, patience and concern for her patients while simultaneously keeping up to date. I actually think she reads medical journals the way most of us read the newspaper! Over the years, I have taken family members to her, recommended her to friends and colleagues. I have been to four different offices of hers over the years as well and had the same warm welcome while receiving excellent care in each and every office. If you want the finest care possible from a lovely person, Dr. Chen is the dermatologist to see.

Although I'm no longer a patient due to relocation, I often wish I were still her patient. She is the rare physician who responds well to patients with medical knowledge. No brush off; instead she displays a willingness to converse. Added bonus - she is indisputably intelligent. More important than a fancy office and ingratiating staff!

VERY RUDE STAFF! Never again will I pay for that kind of rudeness & unprofessionalism. Let's face it ... doctors aren't cheap but they do come a dime a dozen. Although she was able to quickly diagnose my issue, I will never return because of how rude her receptionist was to me on the phone. She lost herself a patient & my money!!!

Dr. Chen is a very knowledgeable doctor. I came to her for my chronic adult acne after going to several doctors and she has really helped my face to totally clear up! Her office is not the cleanest and could be considered a bit sloppy, however she really knows her stuff and I am forever grateful after suffering with adult acne for 8 years.

My entire family and many of my friends rely on Dr. Chen for expert medical care. My daughter is a physician and wouldn't go to any other dermatologist.

Correct diagnosis in one visit. Up to date on best medications.

If you need the convenience of a last minute Saturday appointment then she's the doctor for you. But, if you want a doctor that can diagnose & treat your problem correctly then you may be in for a surprise. I have a skin condition on my foot and visited Dr. Chen twice and my condition has not improved and it just gets worst with every treatment. Even now she still can't figure out what seems to be causing my foot rash!
