Virginia Chiantella, MD, FACS attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University and received her MD in 1983 where she also completed her Internship and Residency. She was the first woman to complete the General Surgery residency, and serve as Chief Resident in General Surgery, in the history of the Medical Center. She is the founder of Loudoun Breast Health Network, a non-profit dedicated to the breast health education and support of the breast cancer patients. She is also on the forming board for the Fairfax Breast Health Network. Dr Chiantella has been named the recipient of the Tigerlily Foundation's Inspire Award and was included in Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors 2010. She was listed in the Presidential Who's Who of Business and Professional Achievers for 2011 and is featured in the 2012, Leading physicians of the world from the International Association of Healthcare Professionals. Dr. Chiantella is on the medical staff of Reston Hospital Center and …Reston Surgery Center.

I love her in every way! She's been my doctor for over 10 years and while her office sure had its ups and downs I never lost trust in her as a doctor. She did my surgery not only amazingly but had zero issues and/or pain afterwards and has been guiding me through all of this as a friend or family member would. She is an excellent doctor with an amazing knowledge, talent and the most caring personality! I highly recommend her.

Dr. Chiantella has been my doctor for several years now. She is very knowledgeable and down to earth. She is great and I couldn't ask for anything more. Great doctor and a great person!!

My appointment was at 2:30 and I arrived at 2:15 like the front desk clerk ask me to, when I made the appointment a week ago. I had completed my new patient paperwork before arriving. It was 2:51 before any one came out to speak to me. Only to say that I was not on the schedule for the day. I said oh no I was sure my appointment was today. First of all there was no front desk person for the doctor. It appears my appointment was given to someone else and that I needed to wait. Very bad service for a new patient. I may not come back at all. Would not recommend this doctor only because the rude service.

I came in an hour early as a new Patient to fill out paperwork. Was ignored till after thirty minutes when I approached the reception. She is very rude and not friendly or nice at all. Really disappointed.

I went to Dr. Chiantella to get a second opinion on whether surgery was needed on some questionabla calcium deposits. She was recommended by a friend. Staff was great about squeezing me in quickly and Dr. was fantastic about explaining everything and laying out my choices. Terrific!

Dr. Chiantella was my breast surgeon 7 yrs ago for breast cancer. She is the top of her field in my opinion. I wouldn't go to anyone else. She did a wonderful job with my surgery and has followed me very close to watch for a recurrence the last 7 yrs. You are in the very best of hands with her. She is up on the latest research and techniques and is very thorough. She is loved and trusted by all who go to her.

Dr. Chiantella does medicine the old fashioned way - she views each patient as a real person. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait in the waiting area, but that is because she gives each patient the time necessary for them. I can't say enough good about her. I would highly recommended her to anyone.
