Dr. Virtaj Singh, MD

My daughter was referred to Dr Singh as a doctor with a special interest in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, by her neurologist at UW. They suspect she has EDS and we just wanted a confirmation of the diagnosis and an idea of what, if any, of her symptoms would be attributable to EDS. Dr Singh refused repeated requests to see her, told her to go to a questionable practitioner of holistic medicine instead, and said he would not even see her solely to give his opinion on whether or not she has EDS. No patient should have to repeatedly beg to see a specialist, especially when that “specialist” knows that the patient (just 19 yo) has very few options in this area. Hypocritical Oath.

Dr. Singh was my Dr on and off for many years (when I was stable and improving we would stop until I flared up). During one of my good periods I decided to try a more aggressive treatment from another MD. Oops. Biggest flare up I had in 12 years. When I went in to get his help picking up the pieces, he was non-judgemental and sincerely helpful in putting together a treatment plan that worked for me. He mentioned that he had wished I checked in with him first though because he had rejected that treatment for me earlier because he was worried it would cause me too much pain. Great bedside manner and sense of humor. Also has a good referral network to help put together a multidisciplinary team to help you.

After 10+ years of being told there wasn't anything I could do about my back, I was recommended to Dr. Singh. He's been tremendously helpful, and I really appreciate that he tries to find workable solutions to problems. Just wish I would have found him sooner.

I was referred to Dr. Singh about 3 years after a sever on the job injury. It was my speech therapist that suggested that I see him after the doctors that I had been seeing had failed to get me the attention I needed to recover. After the first visit/consultation was over i walked out of his office and it was the first time in the last 3 years that i had felt that there was hope for recovering, but also that i was being helped by a doctor that knew what he was dealing with but also genuinely wanted to help me. Simply said there was easy about taking my injuries on for a doctor 3 years after the injury, when i took my medical records to him for the last 3 years I carried them in the box the CASE of paper it took to copy them all. After he swallowed a couple of time he proceeded to dig into them and took what I can only imagine was most of his lunch time to start to go over them with me and start to come up with the course of treatment I should have started 3 years before. I just wish I… had gone to see him sooner.

This physician is too good to be true.

Virtaj was my doctor at harborview. he was simply the best.
