Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Garla, MD

I have never experienced a doctor like this one. He NEVER examined me at all and bed side manners are horrible. I just don't see how he's still practicing. He don't have an attitude or even show he's concerned about the patient at all. When you hear this name, RUN!! He's definitely NOT a CARING provider in no way. He spoke with me about two minutes. Never even looked at my neck or face to see if anything was off or different and actually my right eye was bulging, he NEVER even looked in my face, if he had, he would have known that my thyroid had flared and I was not hypo but hyperthyroidism.

He was attentive and took his time listening to me. He went above and beyond in making sure I got the medications I needed. He came to the ED when I was admitted and made sure I receieved the best care.

I saw Dr. Garla foe hypothyroidism and nodules. I sat in a chair in the examining room for 30 minutes and saw him for two minutes. He did not examine my nodules, did not even touch my neck. He looked at my chart, did not recommend an ultrasound, did not talk to me except to tell me he was adjusting my levothyroxine dosage, and that was that. A month later i ended up in the ER with chest pains because my levothyroxine was too high. Now I am told that UMC will not let me see a different doctor, because the 2 minutes I spent with him made me his established patient. So instead of allowing me to see a different doctor in endocrinology, if i remain a patient at UMC Endo, it is only if I see him. I won't make thst mistake again and am moving th Hattiesburg Clinic instead. In a nutshell, this is an inattentive, arrogant doctor who I will not see again. Worst doctor I have ever seen.

Refuses to listen to the patient's complaints and/or symptoms. Won't run any diagnostic tests, outside of the routine, to look outside the box and determine the cause of the disease acceleration. Tells the patient to push back from the table, regardless of reported caloric intake. Seems to think their are no other explanations for disease other than overfeeding. Lacks empathy and has a horrendous bedside manner.
