Dr. Vitaliy Y Poylin, MD

After suffering with ulcerative colitis to the point where my entire life was shut down, Dr. Poylin offered the option of surgery. I finally have my life back. Dr. Poylin explained the procedure, and answered any questions I had. He is highly skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Followed up after my procedure to ensure everything was on track. Highly recommended.

This doctor is absolutely horrible and evil. His nurse Emily very unprofessional and racist please do not trust these two.

I recently went for a consultation with Dr. Poylin. He walked in the room and was instantly combative and condescending. In fact, I felt genuinely uncomfortable by his demeanor to the point I considered ending my appointment. He listened to zero of my concerns (although I had a referral from a doctor in the same building) and instead told me why all of my concerns are invalid and wrong. I am lucky I do not need surgery, because I would have gone elsewhere. Truly miserable.

After my surgery I was in signiicant pain and I called the office to get an urgent appointment to see Dr. Poylin. I was told that I would have to wait my my surgical followup visit - in WEEKS and that I would only be able to see the nurse - not Dr. Poylin. I'm switching surgeons.

I was very pleased with every aspect of my experience with Dr. Poylin and his staff.

Dr. Poylin is very professional, courteous, prompt, and will explain everything in terms you can understand. He entertains all questions, so you should ask, no matter how small. Even though he is a very busy surgeon, he has time to speak with you instead of at you, and frequently has interns along with him, who will assist him and to whom he shows great care and patience as they work with you. He is very gentle and mercifully brief in his exams. He will then discuss *with you* your treatment plan - he encourages you to learn all you can, and appreciates that you are engaged and participating with him as a partner in your own care. I feel confident that he is the best surgeon for my issue. Overall I am very satisfied with his care and would recommend him.

Dr. Poylin was the most caring and understanding doctor my family encountered during my mother's stay in BI.He performed a very successful surgery on my mother who had a very medically challenging case.He has excellent bed side manners, goes out of his way to explain all the issues, tests, and procedures and patiently responds to every question asked. He kept the family and my mother well informed every step of her stay at BI. We could not be more grateful for his thoughtfulness, caring, and professionalism.
